Road Trip-My money at work

We took a trip up to Choctaw Casino on Sunday. I lost less than I expected to lose, so that's a win....right? Below you can see what my money is helping build. A high rise hotel and larger casino. I wish the Texas Legislature would allow Texans the opportunity to vote on bringing casinos to Texas.

Wear your favorite sports team logo to Chick-fil-a Monday and get a free chicken sandwich. Ya think they are going to be busy?

have about a zillion casinos up this way---I have yet to go in one. I may like to gamble so I don't want to try. LOL MB

Jim, How would you vote? I have mixed feelings about the proliferation of Indian casinos. The few I have seen here seem to be filled with sad looking people. I understand the need for $ to get some needed services and improvements to the reservations, but I am concerned about addiction, and also who's running and profiting the most from operating the Casinos? Not all members of the tribes are sharing equally in the profits, either. I have visited and lived in Santa Fe, NM briefly for many, many years, and I personally think that the Pueblo Indians are close to "selling their souls" for those Casinos on their beautiful and sacred lands. Now, there you have it...my feelings about Casinos.

Remember the old adage," lucky in cards, unlucky in love." Do they allow sports book? Probably not. I think that's only in Vegas.

That's awesome that you lost less than expected,lol....We have a lot of those casinos in San Diego too and they just keep getting bigger and bigger. My mom and brother used to work for one before they moved here, for years. They were a great company to work for and took care of their employees!

As long as they bring in a tax base for the state through taxes. Unlike here in Minnesota. Our state collects ZERO tax revenue from our casinos. Stupidity is in the our state's government.

Mama and I went to Spirit Mountain today--we also didn't lose all we took. We enjoy the drive and the sights, too.

I miss Chick-fil-a.
