YMCA Dallas Turkey Trot
An estimated 40,000 close friends met in downtown Dallas yesterday for the annual YMCA Dallas Turkey Trot. The weather was almost perfect, which I am sure led to the large crowd. Here's my view in front and back of me at the start. It took me just over 20 minutes to cross the start line from the time they fired the gun.

Anyone having duck for Thanksgiving? I'm a turkey guy. Short day at work today, then a long 4 day weekend. Now that's something to quack about!

Winner Winner
The Lady Tigers hosted South Garland last night and came away with a 55-54 win. The Tigers trailed 52-51 with just over 30 seconds left in the game, but Tiara White made 2 free throws to give the Tigers a 53-52 lead. After a South Garland missed shot, Tiara was fouled again and made both free throws to push the lead to 55-52. South Garland missed a 3 point shot at the buzzer but a foul was called against Terrell. The South Garland player made the first FT to cut the lead to 55-53 but missed the second shot. The miss secured the victory for the Lady Tigers. They final FT was made, making the final score 55-54.

Best seats in the house
The loudest people in the house get to move to the best seats and get a free meal.
Sad news spread last night, the Terrell Animal Adoption Center lost, or suffered a setback, in their goal to be a no kill shelter. Due to only overcrowding 6 dogs were euthanized early yesterday evening. Its not known what direction the center will go to now.

Lions vs Buffalos
West Texas A&M traveled to Commerce to take on the Lions from Texas A&M-Commerce. WTAMU won the game 45-14. The win helped the Buffalo's earn a spot in the NCAA Division II football playoffs.
Depending on who is selected for the bowl games, Saturday may have been the last football game for me to photograph for a while.

Football comes to an end for the Tigers.
The varsity Tigers football season comes to an end tonight when they travel to Highland Park to take on the Scots. Last night the JV and Freshman teams played HP. Both teams came out on the losing end. The JV team, who played at home, only had 20 plays suit up.
I planned on going to the Freshman game, but it was an hour away and I got home from work late. I ended up going to the JV game and being recruited to run the down markers for a while, so pictures were limited.

Ben Gill Park
The time change has forced some early evening runs to be moved to Ben Gill Park. Not sure which is safer, running along a highway with no lights after dark or running the park after dark with little light.

I said after I finished running a marathon I would get a 26.2 tattoo. So here it is. I now have a 13.1 on my left calf and a 26.2 on the right. I got both tattoos at Shotgun Tattoos in Terrell.

Morning Fog
Election day. I think by the time we all go to bed tonight we will be no closer to having the election over than we are this morning. Hopefully, the fog will lift soon and we can go back to commercials for the silver bullet and shady insurance lawyers.

Skywatch Friday
Our trip to DC was cut short because of hurricane Sandy. We drove back instead of flying. It was raining in DC when we left on Monday morning and we ran into snow in western Virginia. When the rain and snow stopped, it wasn't for very long. We didn't see the sun until we reached Knoxville, TN. During the breaks we did get to see the scenery along the highway in Virginia. Tanya who writes Around Roanoke, VA Daily Photo lives in a beautiful part of the country.
