SwCC Admin building
I am a student at the school in the Ministerial Program. The buildings affected were the Administration and Student Support Services buildings. They housed 95% of administrative offices, student records, the Ben Foster Jr. Auditorium, several classrooms, and the James O. Maxwell Ministerial Room. This is a tremendous loss to the school. Fortunately nobody was injured and the school has insurance that will cover the costs of rebuilding.
SWCC Admin building in ruins
I try to post positive images of Terrell, but I guess everything cant always be positive. A few weeks ago, I posted a picture of the Administration building for Southwestern Christian College. Today the building is in ruins. Here is a photo I took just a little while ago. I haven't seen anything in the news about it yet. I am not sure what all was housed in the building and I think a side building, but this has to be devastating for the college.

Foggy morning
Ok, no ice yesterday didn't make me disappointed, but I would have loved the day off of work. This morning we get fog. Some places were supposed to get freezing fog, never heard of that before. Sounds more like a horror movie, than a weather condition.

What a disappointment.
I have somehow got a virus or something on my computer, so I am not able to comment like I would like. I hope to have it fixed by tomorrows posting.

Terrell Texas High School 1958
To answer a question from yesterdays comments, I never had a Letterman's jacket. I was more of the geek type.....OK I WAS a geek. Back in the early 80s (I graduated in 82) my high school had a radio station and that's where I spent my time. We would broadcast our schools sporting events, had our own radio shows, did our own news, had FCC broadcasters license and everything. That's one of the good memories I have from my high school, Cahokia Sr. High School and WRTE 89.5 FM.

Letterman jackets
This may only be of interest to people who graduated from Terrell High School, but during my visit to the Museum I noticed two lettermans jackets. One is for the Band Captain, Class of 55, the other I think is for track, Class of 57. Amazing these things are over 50 years old. If anyone has a picture of the old high school, email it to me and I will post it here.

Old pipe organ
Here is a photo I took of the pipe organ that's kept on the second floor. The organ was originally in the First Baptist Church. It was used from 1912 till 1956 when the church moved into a new building and the organ stayed in the old building. The organ was moved to the Museum in the 80s when the old church building was demolished.
The organ still works. There is a sign that says if you know how to play, please do.

Yesterday Southern Heart gave me a "You make my day" award. She has a great site for Memphis, TN. Thank you.
The award rules say: "Give the award to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blogland. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times."
So, I cant break the rules. I have way more than 10 sites that I enjoy, so I will try to list the sites that haven't gotten the award yet.

Terrell ISD Admin building
I posted a head on shot back in September. This building was built in 1936. It has had additions over the years, but it has always been used as a school building. It was converted to the Districts Administration building around 10 years ago.
A follow up to my January 6th post is here.

Griffith Homeplace outbuilding
While mistakenly referred to as the "Midgets' House", this historic Victorian structure is typical of SERVANTS QUARTERS and dependencies on this property which helped keep daily chores as well as servants out of the main house. Here activities typically would include laundering, cooking, canning and pickeling, smoking and curing meat, sewing, home shoe repair, saddlery, minor household repairs, storage of seed and garden equipment, etc.: evidence that many 19c. households were remarkably self-sufficient.
Often overtly pretentious on the Exterior, to impress visitors, these outbuildings were raw, barren and crudely finished on the inside, frequently without interior walls and much like a stage set; and they were seldom frequented by other than domestic help.
When young men of the family were quartered separately as a step toward ultimate independence, such houses were often referred to as garconierres.
Records indicate that the DR. L.E.GRIFFITH HOMEPLACE, had at least eight outbuildings on this historic landmark property.

American National Bank offices
I have been tagged. Chris from Nashville Daily Photo tagged me on Tuesday. So I get to spill the bean on my new years resolutions, if I have any. Here is how Chris explained it.
When it comes to New Year’s Resolutions we seem to fall into four categories: 1) quite serious about them, 2) flippant about them, 3) pressured to do them, or 4) do not do them.
So, the purpose of this little game is to let us know which category you are in. I will give mine, then tag 3 other sites to do the same thing.
OK for me....I guess I fall into group 2. It was hard to make resolutions this years since it started in Las Vegas, but I tried anyway.
Eat better---already messed that one up.
Work out---start next week....HONEST
That's it, that's all I made. Now I get to tag. Jana from Susanville Daily Photo, Southern Heart from Good Adobe-a Daily Photo of Memphis, TN and Kim from Celina Daily Photo. Check out each of their sites.

I am back
Not really, this is the old Frontier. There was a larger building farther back from the strip that was imploded late last year. I guess this was a smaller building they decided they could just tear down instead. When we got to Vegas on Tuesday almost the entire building was standing. By the time we left on Friday afternoon, it was gone.
Mo posted two photos of the main hotel building before it was imploded and the reason it had to be removed. In my post you can see more of the Trump Tower. I guess the parking garage is going up in front of it.
I am sorry I wasn't able to make it to everyones site on Jan 1. We were rushed leaving the for the airport, we had to fight Cotton Bowl traffic so we left early. Thanks to everyone who made nice comments about my post.

January theme day "photo of the year 2007".
I had a hard time picking a photo for my favorite, or what is supposed to be my photo of the year. I can't say that my #1 photo is anything special to anyone but me and my family. It was originally posted on September 22nd. Its of my cats Decker on the left and BC on the right. They are indoor cats and enjoy sitting on the window ledge looking out. I happened to catch them both looking out the same window. I was lucky that they didn't move before I got the camera out. What I didn't know at the time was that Decker was sick with cancer. He ended up having to be put to sleep on Oct 27. We still have BC, but we can tell he misses his buddy. I posted a few more pics of Decker on October 27th.
There are 118 blogs participating in the January theme day.
