Houston 35, SMU 9
Demarcus Ayers who attended Terrell HS for his Freshman and Sophomore years made is return to the Dallas area yesterday as a sophomore member of the Houston Cougar football team. Demarcus graduated from Lancaster HS and played basketball and football through out high school. I would like to think there are a few that play for the Tigers now who can follow in Demarcus' footsteps and play at the next level.

Mavericks game
One of the goodies of the Mavs Run This Town 5K last month was a ticket to a Dallas Mavericks game. So last night was the game we picked. We found out almost all of the parking around the arena was by pass only. Even places we were told were cash, we were turned away because we didnt have a pass. After spending 45 minutes driving around looking for a cash parking lot we finally got inside just before tip-off. The seats were wayyyyy up top. The Mavs lost and they looked horrible. But I was able to take in my camera.

The season ends for the Tigers
The Tigers lost Friday night to Frisco Heritage 43-20. The season ended on a down note, but they played hard and provided a ton of enjoyment to Terrell this year. I'm looking forward to next year to watch the band, cheerleaders, band, color guard, Tigerettes and football team.

Memorial Stadium statue
I wasn't able to attend the dedication of the statue outside of Memorial Stadium in Terrell last week. My first chance to check it out was last night after dark and I thought this made a neat picture.

Laying out for the catch
I think one of my best football pictures of the year so far. This is a WR for Dallas Hillcrest making the catch late in the game Friday night against Terrell. Terrell won 30-22.

Terrell baseball players college signing day
Three seniors for the Terrell Tigers baseball team signed to play baseball at the next level yesterday. From left to right, Mychal Alsip will play at East Texas Baptist, Kris Priddy will go to Henderson State and Brendon Mann will join Mychal at East Texas Baptist. Head baseball coach Gage Davis is standing behind the young men. These are great kids who I look forward to following in college.

Almost gone
Sad to see this building go. I wish it could have been saved, but I guess the bank needs another employee only parking lot.

Finishing strong
I think her name is Sarah. She had a loud and energetic cheering squad at the finish line of the McKinney Mini Half Marathon.

The Tigers gave the #3 DMN Dallas area 5A Pirates from Poteet all they could handle last night before losing 42-35. It was the final regular season game of the year. Playoffs start next week, Terrell vs Hillcrest.

First Methodist Church, Terrell, TX.
I hate when the time changes in the fall. I'm never ready for it. Taking pictures after dark is not fun. I have never been able to get a good shot of this Church. This is probably one of my better ones.

Doomed?
This doesn't look good. An empty building that had asbestos removed last month now has a chain link fence surrounding it. I started this blog back in 2007 to try to preserve pictures of old buildings in Terrell that seemed to turn into parking lots or a grass lot over night. I hope I'm wrong and this is just the start of renovations.
