Terrell 7 on 7 week 4, the Sabian Hubbard show

Sometimes you can't stop someone no matter what you try to do.  Palmer and Kaufman found that out Tuesday night when they couldn't stop Terrell WR Sabian Hubbard.  He scored 7 touchdowns in two games leading Terrell to wins in both games.  The win over Kaufman was in the Championship game of the Kaufman 7 on 7 league. Terrell and Kaufman will meet August 26th in Terrell in the regular season opener.

Cooling off

or washing up. This duck couldn't stop shaking at the lake in Ben Gill Park.

I have taken June off from updating iHigh, but I will start updating again on July 1st. It hasnt been abandoned, and I am going to need your help visiting the site.

Tonight is 7 on 7 in Kaufman.  Look for photos Wednesday and Thursday on Facebook.  Have you liked us on Facebook yet?

The morning of the 4th is the Flagpole 8K at Norbuck Park in Dallas.  I am lucky to just finish a 5K, not sure how I am going to manage an 8K.  Fireworks start around 9PM in Ben Gill Park.

I signed up to get the Groupon emails a few weeks ago.  I haven't found anything that I could use yet.  I noticed after signing up, I'm getting a half dozen other coupon/discount emails daily from other addresses.  Addresses that I didn't sign up for.  I guess Groupon has a side money making business selling email addresses.

I have never heard of "Toddlers and Tiaras", its about small kids and beauty pageants.  I guess there is a mother/daughter on there from Forney.

Flag etiquette

I dont think this is the proper way to display the flag. This is a day care on my way to work. The flags were put up for Flag Day. The picture was taken Tuesday morning after the rain. As of this morning the flags were still there.

Terrell 7 on 7 week 3

A few shots from last nights 7 on 7 games in Kaufman.  Terrell #1 lost to Kaufman #1, then bounced back and beat Kaufman #2. Kaufman has a good 7 on 7 team, it looks like most of my better shots came from Kaufman.  Terrell opens the regular football season hosting Kaufman.  The Tigers will need to work on containing the Kaufman roll out by then.

These shots are of Kaufman #1.

Terrell #1 is below

She just wasn't into it

We finally got a nice rain shower last night. More rain is on its way. Weather permitting, tonight is week 3 of the 7 on 7 passing league in Kaufman. The match up of the night will be at 6PM when Terrell #1 takes on Kaufman #1 on the game field.  The league concludes next Tuesday.

Sunday afternoon we made a stop at Ham Orchards. Yesterday a car drove through the front wall. Workers were busy all night repairing the wall with the hopes of being able to open today. Not sure if the weather made them stop working.

The results are in

Saturday was the 6th Annual Pioneer Days 5K in Eustace, TX.  This was the second year to run this race.  Eustace is a small town but they have a nice race.  This year they had 115 runners, the second most since they started the race.  It would be nice to get a crowd that size in Terrell next year.  My time was just off my best.  I finished in 33:26, my best time is 33:23 at the Mardi Gras run in Richardson earlier this year.  I ended up beating Brian by about 20 seconds.

Here is a runner checking for his name.  I had to wait until the second board was put up, I finished 64th overall.

It better be dead

Evening running on Highway 34 in Terrell can be an adventure sometimes.  Last night Brian was up ahead of me and I saw him stop and turn around.  About that time I came up to this.  Thankfully, it was dead.  I think I still jumped and almost ran out into the highway.  What do you do when you pass a dead snake, you go home and get the camera.

The sidewalk is in the upper left of this shot.  It had to be at least 6' long.

Terrell 7 on 7 week 2

A few shots from last nights 7 on 7 being played in Kaufman.  Look for more pictures later tonight on the Facebook page.

Even with being told to talk to the hand by the Mabank defender, Alvin Lampkin has had 2 good weeks in 7 on 7 play.

Abandoned train depot

The abandoned railroad depot in Dublin, TX,

A leftover reminder of a horrible past?  Maybe it was used as a prop in a movie?  I should have asked someone.

My street going green for June. Not much has changed since last month except the trees have filled out a bit more.

10 2 4K

Yesterday was the 120th birthday for Dublin Dr. Pepper.  The town of Dublin was renamed to Dr. Pepper, TX for the week leading up to yesterday.  Part of the fun were races of 10 2 & 4K.  I picked the 4K to run. Including the 2K they had over 600 registered runners.  A huge number for a small town.

Texas Tech football camp

June 3rd was the 4th anniversary of Terrell Daily Photo.

Texas Tech held a football camp Sunday in Rockwall, TX.  The temperatures were near 100 degrees, so I was only out there for about 30 minutes. The camp attracted athletes from all over the Metroplex and northeast Texas.  Here are a few shots from the camp and there are more on the Facebook page.  On New Years Day I was able to photograph the Tech bowl game played in the Cotton Bowl.

Tomorrow night the Kaufman 7 on 7 passing league begins. Terrell will have two teams playing.  It will be interesting to see who is out there for Terrell.  They graduated their top receiver's and their top underclassman  transferred.

Looking for pictures from Friday nights Terrell High School graduation ceremony?  Contact Don Johnson at Tribune to purchase photos of the special night.
