I added an album on the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page from the Bahamas cruise. Click the link to the right and be sure to "like" the page.
Just not ready to put Bahamas to bed. Here are two shots from the pool deck.

NCL Sky
This is probably my favorite picture from the vacation. This is our ship, off Great Stirrup Cay island.
I missed football last week. This is Homecoming week for the Tigers. They host Red Oak Friday night. Terrell had a bye last week, while the Hawks from Red Oak are coming off of a win against Waxahachie. The Tiger offense will have to be on their game as Red Oak boasts a top 10 area Class 4A defense, they are only giving up just over 80 yards a game rushing. Red Oak is ranked #11 in the area 4A Dallas Morning News poll. Will Terrell have both quarterbacks in uniform Friday night?
Looks like the Tax ratification vote for the Terrell ISD passed 60%-40%. I guess thats good news for the school district.

Back
We are back from the cruise. It was awesome. We sailed out of Miami to Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay. We caught a shuttle from Fort Lauderdale to the Port of Miami. This was under the rear view mirror of the shuttle. Thankfully we made it to our ship. Lots of pictures that I'll post here and on Facebook. But right now its back to work and back to running. We are signed up for a run this Saturday in Grapevine.

Terrell, Texas Monday Morning Mashup
Cowboys 0-2
OK, got that out of the way. How was your weekend?
Thrillvania Thrill Park opens on the 24th. The park is annually rated as one of the best haunts in the country. Put a visit to the park on your calendar. Come early and enjoy dinner at one of Terrells fine restaurants.
The Tigers have a bye week this week. They return to action on October 1st for their homecoming game against Red Oak. I uploaded an album from Fridays game against Waxahachie on Facebook. LaDarius Brown who plays on both sides of the ball for Waxahachie is as good as advertised. He had almost 200 yards receiving, scored a touchdown through the air and on the ground, forced a special teams fumble and defended Terrell's fastest receivers.
Saturdays Flights of our Fathers Fly-In was fun. This is the 3rd year for the event, and it gets better every year. I'll share photos later this week.

Waxed
Terrell got off to a slow start and could never catch the Waxahachie Indians Friday night. The Tigers trailed 21-7 after 1 quarter and 35-14 at the half. The final score was 49-33 Indians.

Skywatch Friday-Tigers vs Indians
Tonight the Tigers will attempt to get back on the winning track as they travel to Waxahachie to take on the Indians. Last week Terrell lost at home to the early surprise of the district, Mesquite Poteet. This will there will be no surprises this week as the Indians are one of the favorites to win district.
Waxahachie has a football tradition that Terrell can one day hope to duplicate. Last year they made it to the 4A Division 1 Quarterfinals before losing to Longview.
The Indians have a nice website too.
If you can't attend the game, listen live on KPYK. Kickoff is 7:30. Updates tonight on the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page.
Other district games:
Forney @ Ennis
Red Oak @ Mesquite Poteet
Corsicana @ Lancaster
Todays Skywatch Friday post is the sunset while out at East Texas Choppers. Other Skywatch sites from around the world can be found here.
This weekend is also the Flights of our Fathers Dinner and Fly-In at the Terrell Airport. The dinner is tonight, the fly-in is Saturday. Hit the link to the right for more information.

Cilla & Marabou
Cilla has been busy the last few weeks. Her latest project is dog cookies. You can read about them and purchase them here.
Marabou is her new Labrador Retriever. I found them both at the Outdoor Expo.
Big Brother is over for another year. Lane, who is from Decatur, TX was the runner up. They announced there will be a Big Brother 13, so I have another shot at making it. I have sent in tapes and went to casting calls but never have been picked.
Survivor started last night with ex-Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson as a contestant. He held his own and made it past the first elimination, but just barely.

Duck Commanders Phil Robertson
Phil Robertson from the Outdoor channels Duck Commander was the guest at this years Terrell Outdoor Expo held on Saturday. The Expo is like an arts and crafts fair but for outdoorsmen and hunters. Lots of big toys.
Despite the Tigers losing Friday night, they are still ranked in the Dallas Morning News 4A poll. They hold on to the #20 spot. Waxahachie, this weeks opponent is ranked #8. The District still has 7 ranked teams, with Terrell ranked the lowest of the 7. With only the top four in the district making the playoffs, they have some work to do.

Terrell, Texas Monday Morning Mashup
It seems like the weekends are as busy as the work week. Friday night was the Terrell football game. They came up short against the Pirates, an album has been posted to Facebook from the game. Feel free to suggest Terrell Daily Photo on Facebook to your friends and feel free to tag anyone you know.
Saturday morning was the 5k race, farmers market and bbq cookoff in Rockwall. Saturday was also the Outdoor Expo at the First Baptist Church and later in the afternoon and Sunday was the EEast Texxas Jamm at East Texas Choppers. I'll be posting pictures from all of the events this week on here and on Facebook.
The next event out at East Texas Choppers is the pre-party for the Stevie Ray Vaughan Remembrance Ride and Concert. The pre-party is Oct 2nd from 1-7, admission is free. The SRV ride and concert is Oct 3rd. Follow the link for all of the details.
The Tigers travel down to Waxahachie on the 17th to take on the Indians.

El Cayote Rojo
Brian and I ran a 5K race this morning in Rockwall, TX. The race was part of the Rib, Rub and Run. One of the vendors on the courthouse square was El Cayote Rojo a Tex-Mex restaurant in Rockwall. One of the items they were selling was brisket tacos. The tacos sure were good. I travel through Rockwall a lot but don't make many stops there. El Cayote Rojo is definitely a stop I will make in the future.
Just out of reach
Terrell had problems getting their offense in gear last night and lost 17-6. Poteets defensive scheme and their ability to control the clock when they had the ball were the two keys in the game. The Tigers travel to Waxahachie next Friday.
This morning is the Rib, Rub and Run 5k in Rockwall. Its already over 80 degrees and humid.
The Outdoor Expo at the First Baptist Church in Terrell is this afternoon and the EEast Texxas Jamm takes place today and tomorrow at East Texas Choppers.
Other district winners were Ennis, Lancaster and West Mesquite.

District play begins
Tonight at Memorial Stadium in Terrell, the 2-0 Tigers host the 2-0 Mesquite Poteet Pirates in the district opener for both teams. Both teams were picked to finish in the bottom half of the district this year.
The Tigers defense, who didnt allow a touchdown last week to Greenville will be tested tonight. The coaches will have to come up with a game plan to contain Pirate QB Beau Nowell and WR Justin Velasquez, both are off to fast starts. The Tiger offense and special teams will have to limit turnovers and mistakes.
Both shots today are of the defensive team during last weeks game.
The biggest key to the game? Outscore the Pirates.
Purchase your Tigers shirt at the game from the Terrell Athletic Booster Club and buy an All Sports Program, featuring some of the non football team photos taken by Brian and me.
If you can not attend the game, listen live on KPYK. Kickoff is 7:30. Updates tonight on the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page.

West Mesquite @ Corsicana

Bad weather passes by Terrell
Yesterday afternoon the Dallas area was under attack by the remains of Hermine. We watched live on the local news tornadoes develop and touch the ground in at least 3 different areas of the Metroplex. The closest to Terrell was a tornado that touched down in Seagoville and traveled north near Forney.
In Terrell, Texas we got mostly rain and wind. From 6AM Tuesday morning through last night the Terrell Municipal Airport received 2.78 inches of rain. There is still a chance of rain today, but it should be clear for tomorrow nights district showdown between Terrell and Mesquite Poteet.
By 7PM when I was taking my evening run, the sky had started to clear. I took this picture with my old cell phone.

Wet weather on the way
Those of us in North Texas enjoyed beautiful weather for the Labor Day weekend. That's about to change, the forecast calls for rain beginning today through Thursday due to tropical storm Hermine.
Pictures are posted to Facebook from Friday nights football game between Terrell and Greenville. Click the link to the right. If you see someone you know tag them and the suggest Terrell Daily Photo on Facebook to your friends. My photos today are the Tigerettes lined up to cheer the Tigers onto the field and during their halftime performance. Friday I'll try to get some of the band.
The Terrell Tigers are ranked #18 this week by the Dallas Morning News. Mesquite Poteet, who visits Terrell this Friday night, is ranked #15. Seven of the nine teams in district 15-4A are ranked this week.
Here is some interesting information about a couple of Tigers. Not sure how accurate it is though.
Remember the days before caller ID? Is your refrigerator running..........?
This weekend is shaping up to be a busy one. Saturday morning is the Rib, Rub and Run 5K in Rockwall.
Saturday afternoon is the First Baptist Church Outdoor Expo.
All day Saturday and Sunday is the EEast Texxas Jamm at East Texas Choppers, 15 bands in 2 days. Tickets are $10 for both days, proceeds from ticket/raffle sales go to the Terrell Veterans Memorial Park fund.
You don't have to attend the Jamm to contribute to the Veterans Memorial Park. Make a donation, purchase a brick paver, sponsor a bench, emblem or other options here.

Terrell trailed 7-0 after giving up an early TD to Greenville off of a fumble but they didn't make many other mistakes. They scored the next 42 points. The Tigers (2-0) begin district play next week facing Mesquite Poteet (2-0) at home.
Shea South, Adrian Oliver and Demarcus Ayers provided the offensive fire power.
Above Quarterback Shea South runs a sweep around the right.
Running back Adrian Oliver scored 3 rushing touchdowns.
Demarcus Ayers provided excitement playing quarterback, running back and wide receiver.

Do Not Wash
That should be in big bold letters on the outside of the IPOD package.
At least I still have an old blackberry that works great as a MP3 player.
I ended up running 44.6 miles last month. I'm going to try to better that this month. The next race is the Rib, Rub and Run 5k in Rockwall, Texas on September 11th.
