Scoreboard

More game photos at the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page.

That was close

Friday nights football game in Forney was a classic. Terrell built a 21-0 lead only to have to intercept a potential game winning TD pass by Forney with less than 2 minutes to go. Terrell ended up winning 21-15. Cliff has a recap of the game along with quotes from Terrell's Coach Gilbert.

This is the second TD scored by Forney. They came right at me.

I will have more game pictures along with Terrell band later today.

Downtown Halloween

The Terrell Downtown Merchants Association sponsors a trick or treat and costume contest every year on Moore Ave. Turnout and the weather last night was great. Here are a few of the shots.

There are a few more posted on the Terrell Daily Photo group page on Facebook.

The Terrell Tigers held on and defeated the Forney Jackrabbits in Forney 21-15. I will post game pictures later today.

Skywatch Friday-October sky

This month has been one of the wettest Octobers in history in the Dallas area. If it wasn't raining it was overcast.

Skies from all over the planet are here.

I just picked up the Mexican Chicken Spaghetti from Koffee Kake. I'll let you know how it is.

I have created a Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page. Feel free to join the group and tag any of the photos.

Tonight the Terrell Tigers football team travels a short distance to take on the Forney Jackrabbits. The game between rivals should be a barn burner. Cliff has his preview posted on the Terrell Tribune website. Game time is 7:30 broadcast on KPYK 1570-AM.

In Terrell from 5pm-7pm is the Downtown Merchant Associations Trick or Treat and costume contest.

Out for a walk

The streets were pretty empty last night.

My coworkers are having a spread tomorrow for lunch. Since I can burn water, I thought I better get someone else to cook for me. I ordered a Mexican Chicken Spaghetti from Koffee Kake. I am told it's really good. I'll have my own review tomorrow night.

The evil empire lost last night....good....not that I watched or really care.

RIP

I didn't know the young man and soldier, but he gave his life to make me safe.

It's only Tuesday

I have already hit the wall. The P90X workout we have been doing kicked my butt last night. I think I pulled something......somewhere....

Is this for real? Sounds like a good idea to me :-)

Dallas Mavericks begin play tonight. I am looking forward to seeing Shawn Marion in a Mavs uniform.

Lone Star T's

Lone Star T's parked in at the Terrell Heritage Museum.

Oh Mary

At the Halloween block party in Oak Lawn Saturday night.

Is that a little lamb or a big Mary?

1915 Model T Touring Car

Yesterday the Lone Star T's brought their Model T's to Terrell.

This is a 1915 Model T Touring Car

There were probably a dozen or so antique cars parked around the Terrell Heritage Museum.

Brian, has a couple of pictures posted of the cars. I'll have another shot of the cars tomorrow. I also posted a few shots on flickr.

Road Trip-Nuts

Yesterday we made a trip up to the casino for Brian's Grandmothers birthday. They were immediately attracted to this sign.

DSO

Brian and I went to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra last night. Selected Fridays during the season are called Casual Fridays. You are allowed to wear jeans. Here is a view of from our seats. Pictures were not allowed during the performance and this was with my camera phone. We sit where the budget allows.

The Symphony preformed Prokofiev: Music from Romeo and Juliet and sounded great.

Terrell defeated Mesquite Poteet last night 47-24, details of the Homecoming win are up at the Tribune.

Top bird

This was my original choice for Skywatch Friday, then I saw the nice sky yesterday afternoon.

I wonder if the birds at the bottom get messed on by the birds up top?

Skywatch Friday-A shot of blue

The sky cleared today just long enough for me to take this picture with my phone during my walk at work. I try to walk everyday on my breaks. I can usually get in just over 2 miles, while my co-workers are having a smoke. By the time I headed for home the sky was overcast again, at least no rain.

Today is Skywatch Friday. Click here for Skywatch from around the world.

The Terrell Tigers play Mesquite Poteet in their Homecoming game tonight. Kickoff is 7:30PM. Cliff Gibson, sports editor for the Terrell Tribune has his preview of the game here.

Peter Coin Laundry

Remember those late night laundry trips? Couldn't do it during the day because you were either working or it was always packed? Its getting dark so early, I am finding myself either going out after dark to get pictures or take them on weekends.

Greenery revisited

I posted this same area on June 17th.

This picture was taken last night.

I drove through Ben Gill Park last night at 7PM just before I took today's picture. The park was full as usual this time of year with pee wee football practice. The kids were practicing in almost complete darkness. Makes me think the comments on this story deserve to be addressed.

My fantasy football team took another loss, this week was expected, I had Peyton Manning on bye. I am now at .500 for the season, 3-3.

My NFL picks didn't turn out that much better. I ended up going 8-6. For the year I am 59-31.
I am really diggin the Broncos, the throwback uniforms are awesome, rookie coach Josh McDaniels is the early favorite for coach of the year and they guy is only 33 years old. Quarterback Kyle Orton couldnt even start in Chicago and now his team is 6-0. Fantastic start for Denver. Makes me wonder when this guy is going to change the name of his blog.
I guess he changed it last night after the win.
I still haven't read up on the Constitutional amendments that we are voting for.

At the car wash

Not quite the same thing as the movie from the 70's, (a classic) but the car wash was busy last night even after it got dark.

Exciting weekend if you are a football fan. Terrell lost a thriller to Red Oak Friday night, the Texas Longhorns defeated OU on Saturday and the NFL gave us some great games yesterday.

Even though the Tigers lost Friday night, they are still ranked #20 in the DFW area for 4A schools.

Early voting starts today in Texas for Constitutional amendments. I didn't see the ballot number for requiring an ID to vote or to allow casino gambling in Texas. Maybe next time.

The mud holes are finally starting to dry up, leaving nice ruts in our driveway.

Skywatch Friday-Skyway

Last of my State Fair pictures. There wasn't much sky to see that day, overcast and a little chilly. Perfect Fair weather. Your looking at the Skyway ride taken from the Texas Star.

Other Skywatch Friday sites are here.

Terrell faces District 15-4A foe Red Oak tonight in Red Oak. Here is a preview.

State Fair of Texas 2009-People

Are y'all getting tired of the Fair shots? I will end them with tomorrow with Skywatch Friday.

Baseball playoffs continue tonight, and unless you are from LA or the northeast you probably care about as much as I do. Los Angeles vs. Philadelphia tonight and tomorrow is Los Angeles vs. New York, I have no interest in watching any of it.

As I was driving back from the gym this morning I noticed two skunks playing in a bank parking lot. It was still dark, but the lights from the lot were pretty bright. I had my camera why not try for a shot? I pulled into the lot, then thought what if I roll the window down and they stink? I wouldn't be able to get that smell out of my car for days. So I pulled out of the lot and head home. Strange to see skunks in town.

State Fair of Texas 2009-Texas Star

A few pictures of the Texas Star and from the Texas Star.

Tomorrow morning a few of my favorite shots.

State Fair of Texas 2009-Rides

These are just some of the rides at the State Fair. I will post more of the Texas Star later today.

My week 5 NFL picks didn't turn out so well. I ended the week 7-7. For the year I am still a respectable 51-24. I also lost in Fantasy Football dropping me to 3-2 and a tie for 3rd place.

The Terrell Tigers football squad is still ranked #20 in the DFW Class 4A poll. Red Oak, their opponent this Friday is ranked #13 in the same poll.

State Fair of Texas 2009-Fair Food

I wasn't about to try all the different foods that are available at the fair. Instead I will give you a small idea of what they were offering just by the signs.

The other day I mentioned that I liked kabobs at First Monday.
I think I will pass on the alligator kabobs.
We always have Fletcher's Corny Dogs.

Tomorrow the rides, including the Texas Star.
