Lemonade

I have been wearing a pedometer since I have been working out with P90X and walking every day. Last weekend was First Monday in Canton and its a great place to get a lot of walking in. Every trip to Canton includes fresh squeezed lemonade.

You can see the boxes of lemons in the back of the trailer.

We usually pass on the Texas sized corn dogs.

Yesterday was a good workout day. I walked 12,301 steps, did the P90X workout and the ab-ripper.

Flags

To honor SSGT Shawn McNabb, flags are on display all over town.

Brian has a nice post on his site today.

Fallen Hero

Pictures of the last ride home for SSGT Shawn McNabb. Thanks to Nancy for sending me this pictures. The funeral is Friday.

Rambling on

I went an voted yesterday, not sure I understood everything on the ballot, but I did my best. I hope I made the best choices.

I hope I am around to see this.
No sympathy for this guy. He should have known better.
The Dallas Mavericks are off to a good start so far. I like watching Marion in a Mavs uniform.
The Crossroads at Terrell has a You Tube video up. It has me interested, but I want to see dirt move.

A lot of moving parts

This isn't the best picture in the world but I am posting it because of something I heard someone say. I heard someone ask why there is so much attention paid to high school football. The easy answer is because football is a great sport and prep players in Texas are arguably the best in the country. The long answer, at least for me, is that high school football is not just about the football players and the game. Its about the band, cheerleaders, Tigerettes, body guards and equipment managers. It can also be a source of community pride and school spirit.

This Friday night is Senior night when the Terrell Tigers play host to the Lancaster Tigers. On the line will be a spot in the playoffs. Game time is 7:30. I would guess the pregame honoring the seniors will start around 7.

I ended up 8-5 picking the NFL games for week 8. My season record is 76-40.
My fantasy football team finally won another game, evening my record at 4-4.

Koffee Kake-Mexican Chicken Spaghetti

Last Friday I ordered Mexican Chicken Spaghetti from Koffee Kake here in Terrell. It was my contribution to our work place spread.

It went over very good with my coworkers. They all said it tasted great. The spaghetti is just one of the choices they have for their casserole's to go. If you need a casserole for a holiday spread or pot luck give them a call, 972-551-7145.

The picture isnt the best, but I was more
interested in getting it warmed up and
getting off to work.

I will recap my week 8 NFL picks this afternoon.

Tigers on a roll

There are a couple of my favorite shots from Friday nights game in Forney, Texas. I am getting better at taking the picture then moving out of the way, instead of moving out of the way while trying to take the picture.

Scoreboard

More game photos at the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page.

That was close

Friday nights football game in Forney was a classic. Terrell built a 21-0 lead only to have to intercept a potential game winning TD pass by Forney with less than 2 minutes to go. Terrell ended up winning 21-15. Cliff has a recap of the game along with quotes from Terrell's Coach Gilbert.

This is the second TD scored by Forney. They came right at me.

I will have more game pictures along with Terrell band later today.

Downtown Halloween

The Terrell Downtown Merchants Association sponsors a trick or treat and costume contest every year on Moore Ave. Turnout and the weather last night was great. Here are a few of the shots.

There are a few more posted on the Terrell Daily Photo group page on Facebook.

The Terrell Tigers held on and defeated the Forney Jackrabbits in Forney 21-15. I will post game pictures later today.

Skywatch Friday-October sky

This month has been one of the wettest Octobers in history in the Dallas area. If it wasn't raining it was overcast.

Skies from all over the planet are here.

I just picked up the Mexican Chicken Spaghetti from Koffee Kake. I'll let you know how it is.

I have created a Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page. Feel free to join the group and tag any of the photos.

Tonight the Terrell Tigers football team travels a short distance to take on the Forney Jackrabbits. The game between rivals should be a barn burner. Cliff has his preview posted on the Terrell Tribune website. Game time is 7:30 broadcast on KPYK 1570-AM.

Out for a walk

The streets were pretty empty last night.

My coworkers are having a spread tomorrow for lunch. Since I can burn water, I thought I better get someone else to cook for me. I ordered a Mexican Chicken Spaghetti from Koffee Kake. I am told it's really good. I'll have my own review tomorrow night.

The evil empire lost last night....good....not that I watched or really care.

RIP

I didn't know the young man and soldier, but he gave his life to make me safe.

Shawn McNabb, Hero

From the Terrell Tribune:

It's only Tuesday

I have already hit the wall. The P90X workout we have been doing kicked my butt last night. I think I pulled something......somewhere....

Is this for real? Sounds like a good idea to me :-)

Dallas Mavericks begin play tonight. I am looking forward to seeing Shawn Marion in a Mavs uniform.

Oh Mary

At the Halloween block party in Oak Lawn Saturday night.

Is that a little lamb or a big Mary?

1915 Model T Touring Car

Yesterday the Lone Star T's brought their Model T's to Terrell.

This is a 1915 Model T Touring Car

There were probably a dozen or so antique cars parked around the Terrell Heritage Museum.

Brian, has a couple of pictures posted of the cars. I'll have another shot of the cars tomorrow. I also posted a few shots on flickr.
