Terrell ISD starts classes tomorrow. Be sure to drive safely, obey school zones and leave your house a little bit earlier to get to work.

Activity on Moore Ave.

This building has sat for probably a year with no change, just a shell. I noticed workers today on the roof. Hopefully its to restore the building and not to tear it down. Anyone have any ideas?

Here are a few pics from the trip yesterday.

Huge windmill blades

Yesterday on our road trip we passed a windmill manufacturer. I have seen these on TV before, I didnt realize how huge they are. These are pictures of the blades.

Here is a clip from a news story about the windmills that give the size.

Each turbine tower is about 262 feet tall, with blades 153 feet in length each.

Sante building

I may have already posted a picture of this shop, but I was surfing the net and found an old picture of the building. If you follow this link, there is a picture of an old movie house called the Palace.

In the background you can see the side of the Sante building. What I noticed was the balcony on the side of the building. If you look at the two pictures you can see where the balcony was and the door that has been turned into a window.

The large building in the center of the photo is where the downtown park will be. The building on that corner was demolished probably 10 years ago.

The Terrell Tribune has a story about the City converting a emply lot they own into a small City park. Sounds like a real good idea. It can be someplace appealing to the eye, an outdoor area for local workers to enjoy lunch hours, maybe a small garden. I look forward to seeing how it takes shape.
