MRI day

I'm getting an MRI on my knee today. I'm not sure what to expect, the MRI won't make my knee quit hurting.

Rose

I think every rose bush in north Texas is in bloom. This is from Sunday and is in my front yard.

Slow time of year

The week between Christmas and New Years usually is for posts from the past year that I call my favorite. Since I have a poll up for readers to pick the photo (you can still vote), I am going to go post some older pictures that are were taken before Terrell Daily Photo started.

This was taken April 21, 2002 with a HP Photosmart 318. I think they were cut off a rose bush in the yard.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

A rose is a rose

There are still roses blooming in town. This is from my walk on Sunday. I like the way this one turned out. Brian posted similar picture a week or so ago.

I have two large pecan trees in my yard and this is the pecan year. I don't get upset often (lie), but one thing I hate is to see people in my yard picking up the pecans. Its not that I don't want them to have the pecans, heck they are a pain in the butt when mowing. But, I don't want strangers in my yard. If people will not have the courtesy to ask to be in my yard, then I will not have the courtesy when running them out of my yard, I do it every year. Do I need to translate? Stay out of my yard!

OK sorry bout that. Sometimes I have to be the old crotchety guy.

A twitter equipped bathroom scale......no, NO, NO. But I do feel good about my working out. Yesterday was just over 6.5 miles walking and 60 minutes of P90X.

We are going to have to check out Forney Light Show when it lights up later this month.

Terrell Tiger defender AJ Wells was named defensive player of the week by the Dallas Morning News.

Ready to dry out

Terrell Tigers win, start 2-0

The Terrell Tigers defeated the North Lamar Panthers last night in Paris, Texas 21-7. Cliff has a recap of the game posted on the Tribune website.

My plans for today's post didn't work out so well. Last night was a full moon and I was going to attempt to get a picture using the manual settings on my camera. It turned out to be a cloudy night with no moon in sight. I will have to try it again when I can see the moon.

My favorite baseball player and probably the best player in MLB is Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals. If you are a fan of baseball, please take a few minutes to read this story about Albert.

Three weeks from today on September 26th, Terrell will welcome home Jamie Foxx. There will be a presentation at Memorial Stadium at 10am. Admission into the stadium is by ticket only. Tickets are available through local churches or the Terrell Chamber of Commerce. You can also line Moore Ave. from Adelaide to the football stadium for the motorcade from City Hall.

Easter morning shower

Easter started with a heavy downpour before 7am. I am sure that's not the way everyone wanted to start their Easter Sunday, but we can't complain about the rain. My purple iris bloomed, got a bit water logged though.

The Annual Terrell Heritage Jubilee begins the 17th and runs through the 19th. Make your plans to come to Terrell, bring cash. The carnival opens on the 15th. For me Saturday is the best day. They have the BBQ cook offs, antique cars, dog shows and this year at 1pm the Terrell Tigers play. I better get my rest while at work this week.

The Jubilee is held in Ben Gill Park.

Oxalis

I read yesterday this is a weed. I have weeds growing in my flower pots.

Terrell's boys baseball and girls softball teams both have scheduled home games tonight at Ben Gill park. I am hoping the rain holds off until after the games. If you are in town, come out and support the Tigers.

Domain issue resolved?

Hopefully, my domain problem has been solved. I read that it may be a couple of days before its working properly 100% of the time. But today has to be better than yesterday and tomorrow will hopefully be better than today.

I am going to try to get back into the swing of visiting everyone again.

Summer's End

A week or so ago Jilly posted a series of wonderful photos showing Summer's End in Menton, France.

Here is Summer's End in Terrell, Texas.

You might remember this spot from this picture that was posted back in May.

Tomorrow, Terrell will host a visitor from the UK. BKenton left a comment on a post I made back in July about #1 BFTS pilots. He is in the Dallas area for a wedding hopefully, if all goes well, he will visit Terrell tomorrow to tour the #1 BFTS Museum and Oakland Memorial Park.
If you would like to meet Mr. Kenton email me and I can get you the specifics. Terrelldailyphoto@hotmail.com

Museum officials are currently getting ready for October 17th & 18th. That is is the RAF in Texas Fly-In weekend. Check the link to the right for details. I will probably post more the Fly-In early next week.

Happy Monday, now get back to work.

I added a message board to the links on the right. If there is something you want a picture of, post it there. If you want to make a general comment go ahead. I have already posted my first question, take a look see if you can help. Its posted under the Around Town forum.

This Friday night is Homecoming for the Terrell Tigers. The Tigers will be taking on West Mesquite at 7:30 at Memorial Stadium.
