My boss is celebrating his 50th birthday today. Happy Birthday Mark.

Only 2 days until the Spring into Action 5k Fun Run and Walk. I guess I am ready.

Madness in March

Yesterday the high in Terrell was 74 degrees. The temperature has been dropping all day, tonight it is expected to drop to 32 degrees and a chance of snow flurries.

Terrell Spring Football 2009 version

Last night was the annual Spring football scrimmage that ends the spring practice.


Players got a chance to try out a new offense.


and coaches got a chance to yell, OK maybe not yell, but speak with a raised voice.

Easter morning shower

Easter started with a heavy downpour before 7am. I am sure that's not the way everyone wanted to start their Easter Sunday, but we can't complain about the rain. My purple iris bloomed, got a bit water logged though.



The Annual Terrell Heritage Jubilee begins the 17th and runs through the 19th. Make your plans to come to Terrell, bring cash. The carnival opens on the 15th. For me Saturday is the best day. They have the BBQ cook offs, antique cars, dog shows and this year at 1pm the Terrell Tigers play. I better get my rest while at work this week.

The Jubilee is held in Ben Gill Park.

No nightmares on this Elm Street

This is Elm Street in Terrell. Not my street, but I like the look of it in Spring. Nice trees lining the street, sidewalks on both sides. Older homes on each side each with its own character. Looks like how I would imagine it to look in the 50s.

Has spring sprung?

With football season over, I have nothing to do. So I worked in my front yard for a while. The temperature was in the mid 70s and clear, it was a very nice day. I cleaned out my flower bed, well not really a flower bed, more like a fern and elephant ear bed, since I kill all flowers or plant the darn bulbs upside down. Anyway, as I was cleaning up the leaves and the pecan shells I noticed I have a few daffodils sprouting up. Does that mean winter is over?
It is suppose to be in the 30s again by Friday.

A beautiful Sunday

Yesterday was awesome in Terrell. The temperature was in the 70s the majority of the day. The park was crowded with people taking advantage of this bit of spring. Today it's also suppose to be wonderful with a high in the 80s, its was 71 at 6:30am this morning. Its not going to last though, as its suppose to be near freezing later in the week. The best part of the day was watching the Patriots lose to the Giants.
