Best of 2012 #2
This was taken back in January when I was serving jury duty at the Federal building. This is the One Main Place building being reflected off of the Bank of America tower in downtown Dallas. This is my 2nd favorite shot from 2012.

Heart of Dallas Bowl
For the past two years the bowl game held in Cotton Bowl Stadium was called the TicketCity Bowl. The 2013 game has been renamed to the Heart of Dallas Bowl presented by Plains Capital Bank, after the new title sponsor. Heart of Dallas is a nonprofit that will use the net profits of the game to benefit the Dallas charities that serve the homeless population. This years game matches the Purdue Boilermakers from the Big 10 and Oklahoma State Cowboys from the Big 12.
Purdue will be coming into the game on a roll. They won their last 3 games of the year to become bowl eligible. Oklahoma State lost their final two games, but scored 82 points in the loses.
Kickoff is 11am, New Years Day at Cotton Bowl Stadium. Tickets are available from $25 to $125.

Best of 2012 #5
This is Tim Flanders from Sam Houston State during the 2012 FCS Championship game in Frisco. Sam Houston State lost the game to North Dakota State 17-6. The Bearkats get a rematch with the Bison on January 5th in the 2013 FCS Championship game in Frisco. Unfortunately, I will not be on the sidelines for that game. Flanders was named 3rd team FCS All-American this year.

Sky gazing
Saw a balloon yesterday near Farmersville enjoying the 70 degree weather. One week till Christmas, it sure don't feel like it yet.
Former Terrell head football coach Chris Gilbert has his Lancaster Tigers in the Texas Class 4A Division II final against Cedar Park Friday night at Cowboy Stadium. The Tigers are loaded with talent, but led by Washington State signee and former Terrell Tiger Demarcus Ayers. Good luck to Coach Gilbert and the Lancaster Tigers.
College bowl season is now underway. One of the best times of the years. Quite a few student athletes from the area will be competing.
I'm getting ready for my best of posts. I'm going to do the top 10, with my favorite picture posted on January 1st.
Update: Demarcus decommitted from Washington State last week.

Basketball again
I'm sure you are saying, more basketball? Yep, this time I was only able to see part of the Freshman game and part of the Varsity. The booster club meeting was sandwiched in between.

Toys for Tots football
Saturday after the parade was the annual Forney Fire vs Terrell Fire flag football game for Toys for Tots. Here are a few shots from the game. Both teams played well, the final score was 54-45 Forney, but the real winner was the kids.

A little wine
Last night the company I work for treated us to a nice dinner with our Regional Technical Mangers from the field. We dined at Cadot and the food was great. I had the Chicken breast with melted rrie and wild mushroom sauce.

Tour of Homes
Yesterday was the annual Christmas Tour of Homes by the Social Science Club of Terrell. This house was one of the 6 homes on the tour this year. The home is only a year or so old and the owners have done a fantastic job inside and out.
