Summer time
What better way to spend a summer evening than in the park watching a softball game. I think these people were waiting for their game to start.

Ben Gill Park fun
Another shot of the guys playing softball Tuesday night at Ben Gill Park. You need to click on the picture to get a better view. I ended up watching a little of all of the games going on that night. I forgot how much fun it is. I think this was a Church league playing.

I am having problems with City Daily Photo loading from my home computers. It works fine from work, anyone have any ideas? The page will load, I can see it for a second, then it goes to a white screen. I have two computers and it does it on both. No problems with any other websites I visit.
UPDATE: It looks like I am not the only person having the City Daily Photo problem. Until the problem is corrected, you can still type the name of a city in the box to the right to reach another City Daily Photo site.

Mayor Richards runs the Sugar Rush 5K
One of the sponsors of the Sugar Rush 5K was the City of Terrell. One of the participants in the race was Terrell Mayor Hal Richards.
Mayor Richards posed for photos with Debbie before the start of the race.

Was all smiles at the start of the race.

Crossing the finish line and ready to run another 5K........but maybe not today.

Way to go.

Tiffany Orshalick and Debbie Weiss

The Sugar Rush 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run held Saturday in Terrell was to benefit the Deborah Kay Foundation for colon cancer research. All proceeds were going to be donated to the National Cancer Institute to provide colon cancer research and awareness. To read more about the Foundation visit their website from the link on the sidebar.
Todays picture is of Tiffany Orshalick and her Mother Debbie Weiss. Tiffany created the Deborah Kay Foundation as a way to honor her mother, who is a colon cancer survivor. Tiffany did an excellent job organizing the race and appropriate it was held on Mothers Day weekend.

Deborah Kay's Sugar Rush 5K Race, Terrell, Texas
Saturday morning Ben Gill Park in Terrell played host to the Sugar Rush 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run. It was a great turnout, I would guess about a 100 runners and walkers, it was for a great cause and it looked like everyone had a great time. I will be posting more pictures of the race of the next few days.

Dallas Stars

No picture for today, instead you get the Dallas Stars. They played the San Jose Sharks last night in game 6 of the second round of the NHL playoffs. Dallas was up 3-2 win last night and go to the conference finals to face the hated Detroit Redwings.
I am not really into watching hockey on TV, but since the Mavericks are out and Nascar was on Saturday night, I thought I would check out the hockey game.
I think it was one of the best games I have seen in some time. Dallas won, it took 4 overtimes to do it. They played a total of 2 hours 9 minutes and 3 seconds. The game started at 8pm local time and ended just before 1:30am. I can only imagine how the players feel. I am going to be dragging butt today.

Last Tiger baseball photos of the season......
honest...... I am sure everyone is tired of my baseball shots by now.

I think the last one is one of my favorites. It catches a runner running to first and another runner coming home.
By the time next baseball and softball season starts I hope to be a much better photographer.
Sorry, had to add one more.

Dallas Mavericks
A few weeks ago I played a $5 scratch off from the Texas Lottery. One of the prizes was NBA merchandise from your favorite NBA Texas team, and I won merchandise prize pack. I went to the lottery office to claim my prize and last week it was delivered. I won a basketball, a hooded sweatshirt with the Mavs logo, uniforms patterned after the year the Mavs entered the league and this year, a wall clock and a team plaque. The plaque has all of the star players, including Jason Kidd. All of the prizes are pretty neat.

One more of the ladies
The Terrell High School Lady Tigers lost to Forney Tuesday night, but they did go down swinging. Forney has one of the best teams in Dallas area.
My new hard drive came in yesterday, so hopefully I will be back on my new computer tonight.

Terrell High School basketball
Friday night I attended a high school basketball game for the first time since I graduated from Cahokia, Illinois High School in 1982. The Terrell Tigers played host to the Forney Jackrabbits. Terrell won by a large margin, the final score was 67-41. I was able to get a few good pictures, but really need a better camera if I want to take sports pictures. You can see a few more of my pictures from the game here.

Yesterday Southern Heart gave me a "You make my day" award. She has a great site for Memphis, TN. Thank you.

Choke
There are many Dallas Cowboy football fans still crying this morning over their team losing in the playoffs yesterday. I am sure my photo represents what many people did last night and this morning. No, I am not a Dallas Cowboy fan, and Terrell, Texas is not named for Terrell Owens.
