Fighting Tiger Band shines at Regionals

The Terrell Fighting Tiger Band performed last night in Mesquite at the UIL Region 3 marching competition.  They came away with a score of 1 which is great.  They moved on to the Area C competition on October 26 also at Mesquite Memorial Stadium.

Lady Tigers Volleyball

Last night was the first home volleyball contest of the year. I wasn't able to stay for the entire contest but I was able to get a few pictures.

Kickers have a lonely job.  They don't even get to practice with the rest of the team.

We get our first chance to get a look at the Terrell football team this evening when they go to North Garland for a scrimmage.

It's time to get the pictures taken for the All Sports Program that is sold at the football games.  Last night was tennis and girls soccer.  Tonight is golf.

I went out to the park to watch a little softball, but they weren't playing when I was there.  So, I went over to the baseball field and watched a little practice.

Monday Monday

July rain

The weather has been cooler this week and we have gotten the occasional rain shower. It's been a nice break from the normal July dry weather and heat.

I see you up there

Caught these kids being somewhere I'm sure they were not supposed to be, at the top of a fire escape.  I am sure glad there weren't as many cameras around when I was a kid.

Summer ball

I'm not used to taking baseball pictures when one of the teams isn't wearing red.  But last night it was take pictures of the teams playing, or not take pictures at all.  The Terrell summer team played an early game and a late game.  I missed all of the first and it was to dark for their second game.

Terrell 7 on 7 week 4, the Sabian Hubbard show

Sometimes you can't stop someone no matter what you try to do.  Palmer and Kaufman found that out Tuesday night when they couldn't stop Terrell WR Sabian Hubbard.  He scored 7 touchdowns in two games leading Terrell to wins in both games.  The win over Kaufman was in the Championship game of the Kaufman 7 on 7 league. Terrell and Kaufman will meet August 26th in Terrell in the regular season opener.

Terrell 7 on 7 week 1

Play started last night in the Kaufman 7 on 7 passing league.  Terrell has two teams entered.  One team played Scurry-Rosser and won that contest.  The other team played Mabank and lost.

Tiger Matavious Morris has been nominated for the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl.

Lesson learned

The Terrell Lady Tigers hosted the Tigers from Lancaster Tuesday night at the TISD Complex.  Lancaster jumped out to a 9-0 lead and led 18-5 after the 1st period.  The Lady Tigers could never recover or solve the Lancaster trap defense and fell behind by as many as 35 points.  The final score was 67-33.  Their district record drops to 3-4, still in 5th place in District 15-4A.  They travel to Ennis for a Friday night district game.

Terrell, Texas Monday Morning Mashup

Today's shot is from the rodeo Saturday night in Wills Point, TX. It was fun, but got dark pretty quick. A small rodeo album from Saturday night is up on the Facebook page. Have you hit the "like" button yet?

Huge Terrell Tigers news broke Saturday, Jherrod Stiggers will play basketball at the University of Houston. Below is a shot of Jherrod from last year. I noticed its the same picture on the link, no big deal though. Jherrod also stars on the varsity football team.

Yesterday Brian and I ran a 5K race at Norbuck Park in Dallas. I was disappointed with my time, over 2 minutes slower that my previous race. I finished in 37:13 and in 659th place. The race started at 7:45 but it was still hot. Guess that's why its called Too Hot to Handle. We have haven't decided what the next race will be.

The meteorologists at KDFW Fox 4 in Dallas have been questioning the temperature gauge in Terrell. It seems Terrell's temperature has been reading the hottest in the area and in some cases the hottest in the State. Fox 4 tells us the National Weather Service said the gauge is working properly, it's just HOT.

I must have missed this while on vacation. The State of Texas is facing a budget shortfall. For a time is seemed the State Hospital in Terrell wouldn't lose any beds in budget cuts, but I found this last night. It looks like the state may eliminate 183 beds over 5 hospitals. Hopefully, I am reading it wrong and Terrell will not lose any beds or jobs.

7 on 7 football week 2

Terrell had better results last night in week 2 of the 7 on 7 passing league. In the first game the scored on the final play of the game to salvage a tie against Kaufman. In the second game, Forney B scored first to take a 7-0 lead. Terrell then scored the next 45 points to win easily 45-7. Terrell is now 2-1-1.

Terrell Fire vs Police flag football

This morning the Terrell Fire Department and the Terrell Police Department played their annual flag football game. I will have more pictures up later today showing all of the "action". This was taken with my new fisheye lens adapter.
