Almost got the shot
This was taken last Saturday at the 5k run in Rockwall, Texas. The ladies dog was watching the guys dog. It created a funny moment. Just as I went to snap the picture the dogs head moved, causing me to move the camera. Almost had a neat shot.

Christina informed me yesterday that there is a local store in Kaufman that buys pecans from people. I guess I know why people trespass in my yard now.
I have mentioned a couple of times about working out and walking. I am up to walking 5 miles a day and working out for an hour. I find it amusing when people slap on a pedometer go about their normal day, then brag about how much they have walked. I don't think walking the same amount you have walked for years will help you get in shape or lose weight. But maybe I am wrong.
The Lady Tigers basketball team season is underway. I am going to try to make it to a few games this year. I usually get to as many boys home games as I can.
There is talk of the Texas Rangers bringing back Milton Bradley. I would love for the Rangers to trade for him.......of course, I don't like the Rangers and I like to watch train wrecks.
NFL week 10 begins tonight, the Niner's are taking on the Bears. Here are my NFL picks a day early.

Survival of the fittest...or something like that
Wonder what happened to this guy?

OH

I guess this beats a bird or mouse on the porch. Cat sure is playful.
I wonder how may people who have commented here have ever been to a Terrell City Council meeting? People love to complain (me too) but when you constantly complain about elected officials then don't run yourself when the time comes, its time to shut up. We just had an election in Terrell. My City Council person ran unopposed. Sounds to me like we said he was doing a good job, keep it up. It could be like in Congress, everyone wants to replace Congress, just not their representative everyone else.
I wonder if Christina will be making plans to go to this?
My pictures are in no way related to my comment about the City Council :-)
Saturdays Photo Walk should be fun. It looks like the weather may give us a break and I have confirmation that we will be able to walk the grounds of the Griffith Homeplace. The walk will be in two parts, the homeplace and the downtown area. If you have signed up I should be sending out an email tonight with more details. If you haven't signed up yet, click on the banner to the right.
I know we are in Texas, but I am tired of the heat, its 84 degrees already.
I tried to stay up last night to watch Paul McCartney (he is a lefty) on Letterman. I fell asleep before he performed. I just watched his concert on top of the marquee on Facebook, it is AWESOME.
I saw a commercial for Amazing Race tryouts on August 1st in Lewisville. That sounds like a plan.

Terrell Heritage Jubilee-Frisbee dogs
One of the kid favorites at the Jubilee are the Frisbee dogs. They performed Saturday and Sunday. It's hard to get a shot at just the right time. Thankfully I got two.

This is going to be a hard week for the Tigers baseball team. Tonight they travel to Red Oak to make up the game rained out on Friday. Tomorrow they host Mesquite Poteet at 7:30 and Friday they host Forney also at 7:30. JV games start at 4:30 for both home games. The Tigers are almost in the playoffs, come out and support Coach Rush and the Tigers.

Rodeo at Wade Indoor Arena
Today, Wade Indoor Arena in Terrell hosted the Texas High School Rodeo Association Rodeo. I really wanted to go inside the arena, but the thought of getting dirt in my eyes kept me out. Riders practiced in a pen outside the arena. This is about as close as I wanted to get. There is another rodeo scheduled for the 25th. I may try to venture inside then.

I still have red and irritated eyes, but better than yesterday. I go back again tomorrow and get the protective contacts removed. Hopefully that will clear up the irritation.

Sometimes its good to stay out of the way
The dog had a limp the next day, not sure why.

I am going to try to stay out of the way at work today.

Always bring up the rear
Do you sometimes feel this is always your view?

Expect fall out this week from Friday nights fight, brawl, melee during the 4Th quarter of the Terrell vs. Mabank football game.
I had a long winded rant here about the game. I moved it over to the forum.

Slow walk
You can tell how the ropers did by the speed they went to retrieve their ropes off of the calfs. This guy was going pretty slow after his failed run. You can see his rope being dragged by the calf. I would love to try to do something like this, but the fear of getting knocked off would keep me from actually doing it. If pros get injured, its no place for me. It did look like the riders got more injuries than the animals. I will be going back to the Wade Indoor Arena next month.

Roping fun at Wade Arena, Terrell, Texas
Photos from the roping competition at Wade Arena in Terrell. Not as clear or crisp as I would like. I have something to work on, during my next trip.

Wade Indoor Arena, Terrell, Texas
Terrell has its own rodeo arena just outside of town called Wade Indoor Arena. I have always known it was out there but never went. Every Thursday in June they have a team roping competition, so I figured why not drive out there last night. Watching the riders rope was fun. I took a lot of pictures, but only a few turned out. They are so fast and the lighting isn't the best for photography. Over the next few days, I will share the pictures I got.
Here are a couple of horses getting unloaded and ready to have some fun.

Is this a donkey or an.......

I took a drive Sunday a few miles outside of town. I came across this neat looking donkey, mule, burro or ass. Not sure what the difference is. The one thing I noticed was the markings on it. It has a long dark stripe down its back and from shoulder to shoulder. Trying to find something online was difficult, I found things on this animal that would fit it into any of the different types. I even tried to google images of each to see which one it looked like most. Here is a tip....don't google images using the word ass.

Ladies please
Its bad enough that you make your husbands/boyfriends go shopping with you on a beautiful Saturday when they could be at a Nationwide Nascar race on he other side of the Metroplex. Must you make them hold the leash to your dog? I am sure this gentleman had no problem holding the leash to her white poodle with a black and pink shirt.

Decker
I posted a pic just a few weeks ago of my cats sitting at the window. Decker, the orange cat has gotten sick. The vet thinks its cancer. He has gone from 13 pounds when he went to the vet for his shots in June to 9 pounds last weekend when we took him back to the vet. He hasn't ate anything for two weeks. We made the decision yesterday, that hes going back to the vet today to more then likely be put to sleep. We don't know what else to do. Here are a few of the pics of him that I had on my computer and a few we have taken in the last few days. I don't want to bore ya, but I am selfish, I want to be able to remember my kitty.

Goodbye Decker
