It's melting, slowly

The temperature has gone above freezing just enough each day this week to let the snow melt and then turn into ice at night.

Monday Morning Mashup

The freezing temperatures are suppose to end soon. Today's high should be mid 50s, and then just one more night of below freezing temperatures. A welcome break from freezing all weekend.

I watched all four NFL playoff games. The only game that had any excitement was the Green Bay vs. Arizona game last night. In the Eagles/Cowboys game, Romo looked great and McNabb looked old.

Do you think they can get 50,000 in Cowboys Stadium for a boxing match? Bob Arum and Jerry Jones think so.

The Terrell Lady Tigers are home Tuesday night against Red Oak and on the road Friday night against Mesquite Poteet. The boys are on the road Tuesday against Red Oak and home Friday night against Mesquite Poteet.

I am already tired of politics and the "season" is just beginning.

The Warrior Dash in Forney on May 1, 2010 sounds like fun. Not to compete, but to photograph.
Jay Leno moving back to late night is fine by me, I won't watch him there either.

This looks and sounds unappetizing. Like something you would make at 2AM after getting home from a night out and you have nothing in the fridge. It sounded good while you were making it, then you wake up and see it sitting on the table with one bite gone, yuck.

A Monday Bonus later today, and join the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page for more weekend pictures from Ben Gill Park.

Dreary park

The grass is dead, lake is partially froze, ducks are hunkered down, temperature is below freezing and the Cowboys won.

Come back tomorrow for Monday Morning Mashup and to see the only bit of color I found at the park.

Skywatch Friday-Post # 1000 Christmas

Today is post #1000 for Terrell Daily Photo. Terrell got a little bit of snow yesterday and last night, Merry Christmas.

By the end of the night we had a light dusting of snow.

Looking up at the sky and taking a picture of snow isn't that good of an idea. So I tried to find a dark background.

If you have an extra minute, please vote in my poll for the best picture of the year for Terrell Daily Photo. Two of the choices were Skywatch Friday posts.

Waiting for the blizzard 2009

I didn't plan on post #999 to be posted this late in the day. It's Christmas Eve and we are waiting for the blizzard of 2009 to hit. It's already snowing in Dallas. We may end up getting an inch or two of snow by the time its done. If we do get snow post #1000 may be a White Christmas!

A nice first day of winter

Yesterday we celebrated the first day of Winter with a high temperature of 66 degrees F. This picture was taken up in Rockwall, Texas at the Rockwall Harbor.

I added a poll to the right with choices for Terrell Daily Photo of the year. Instead of posting my five favorite photos, I asked Brian to pick his favorites, then I picked five from his picks. Now its your turn to pick one of the five for my photo of the year. Click on each photo for the large version and vote for your favorite. This isn't a best technical photo, or most artistic photo, just which one you like the best. Have another picture thats your favorite, leave a comment. Check the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page for other photos from the past year.

NFL picks for the week 9-7, season record 146-78.

I just barely won the Fantasy Football Semi-final thanks to Kevin Boss. One more game for all the marbles.

Christmas Day will be my 1000th post.

Skywatch Friday-last winter night

Last night was the last night of winter. It was a beautiful night in Terrell, temperature in the high 60s, just a couple of wispy clouds and a sky full of stars.

Click the picture to enlarge it and see all of the stars.

I don't think I am going to be able to get the picture that Tricia was wanting.

Misty, foggy, cold.......

Drove down to the park tonight just after dark. Looks like someone had ideas of playing baseball or softball and thought better of it. Its misty, foggy, cold, just plain nasty outside. Talk is its going to get down to the upper 30s tonight.....burrrrr.

At least its going to be 80 by Monday. :-)

Winter Storm Watch

I think we are wimps here in Texas. We have a winter storm watch issued for tonight and tomorrow morning. There is a chance we could have ice for the ride to work tomorrow. I hope I dont have to take an ice day like J. Andrew. I thought this was a great time for me to join the others and say I am ready for spring and my site needs color. Here is a picture from my front yard last summer.
