Lady Tiger basketball
I went over to the complex last night to catch a little of the girls basketball game between Terrell and Ennis. Terrell didnt win the game, but I could see the improved effort from everyone.
There are a few more pictures from the game posted to the Facebook page.

Ben Gill at night
It has been a while since I took pictures at Ben Gill Park. Last night was chilly, but the sky was clear. I took the old Samsung out and got a few pictures.
Join us tomorrow morning in Rockwall for the Speak Up for Kids CASA 5K/Fun Run. The 5K starts at 8:30am.
The football Tigers travel to Ennis tonight to take on the Lions in the last football game of the season. With a win tonight the Tigers will finish the season 5-5. Terrell was hoping to make a second trip to the playoffs in as many years, but redistricting hurt their chances.
If you can not go to tonights game listen live on KPYK.
Check the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page for scoring updates and add the page to your list of likes.

Terrell, Texas Monday Morning Mashup
We got our first snow yesterday. I don't know the official total, but I would guess we got between 3" & 4" in Terrell. I have additional photos on the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page. Brian also has shots on the Texas Daily Photo Facebook page, check Brians site for his Facebook link. The snow and the threat of overnight ice was enough to cancelled classes today for all of Terrell ISD.
Is it time for a new banner photo?
Above is the Tigers ball field at Ben Gill park. Tuesdays Terrell High School athletic schedule is below. Come out and support your favorite Tiger team. Check the ihigh link to the right for the complete basketball, soccer and just added baseball schedules.

Terrell Tiger mascot
I think I heard the Terrell Tiger mascot say to catch her new video on you tube. OK, maybe I made that up, but I did catch the tiger having fun dancing during the Terrell vs. Richardson JJ Pearce basketball game. You can see the video here.
The Tigers lost, but gave a great effort and almost pulled off the win. It would be nice to see a great crowd tomorrow night for the last home game of the year.

Tiger spirit
Continuing the photos from last nights Meet the Tigers event at the Terrell Athletic Complex.
Nice elevation, he is a Tiger varsity baseball player.

Terrell Tigerettes

The band got everyone fired up.

I got to the complex late so I had to sit pretty high up. It gave me a chance to play with the zoom lens. I plan on knowing how to use it with the settings before basketball season starts. For those that asked, my new camera is a Nikon D60 and I love it.

Monday Morning Mashup
It was a good weekend for Tiger sports teams. The boys and girls basketball and soccer teams won. I posted over 2 dozen soccer pictures from Saturdays afternoon game on the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook Fan page. I love taking sports shots during the day. Friday night the boys soccer and basketball teams both play games at home.

February 1st already. Today is the City Daily Photo Theme Day. The theme this month is wood. Click here to view thumbnails for all Theme Day participants.
I watched the Grammys last night. Funny moment after the performance from Lil Wayne, Eminem and Drake that was edited and censored. They showed a pop up to purchase tonight's performances from itunes. I wonder if that would include the dead air during the trios song? Bon Jovi, Stevie Nicks and Mary J. Blige all sounded great. Stevie would have been better minus Taylor Swift.
The Warrior Dash race in Forney has added a second day on May 2nd. Click on the icon to the right for more information.
If you want to vote in the upcoming primaries, today is the last day to register.
Feeling lucky? Then try your luck at Powerball. Sales start today in Texas and your chance to win the jackpot is only 1 in 195,249,054.
Lost starts tomorrow, I spent yesterday afternoon watching last seasons finale with Brian.
Make sure you become a fan of the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook fan page.

Terrell Daily Photo is 2 years old
No special photo today, but I do like this one. It was taken after a good rain. I set up the tripod in my driveway and pointed the camera towards Moore Ave. As a car would go down the street, I would take the picture. This is a cars tail lights and the lights being reflected in the water on the side of the road. This is also post #735, next stop post # 1000.

The last year has been fun trying to find a picture to post every day, it has also been a learning experience. Before I look forward to the next year, let me look back over the last year.
One of the things I wanted to do this past year was take more sports photos. I think I did a pretty good job of that.
I went to a couple of Tiger football games, which was a first time I went to a high school football game since I was high school. Not sure how many I will go to this year. They don't make it easy to take pictures there.
I followed and photographed the Tiger baseball teams historic season. I am already looking forward to next year.
I also went to as many basketball and soccer games as I could.
I have been to a few City Council meetings and I am finding out how City government works.
I got used to carrying my camera everyplace I go.
I also found out that you have to get it in writing...no matter what it is. There are a lot of people how want something for nothing, that will take your work and pass it off as their own. Promise you one thing and deliver nothing. Jealous people who would like to see you fail, and of course people you cant please no matter what you do. I guess I had to find to find out the hard way.
Below are my New Years resolutions, I am getting there.
Resolution 1. Get more involved in my community.--I am getting there. I am working on the Terrell Photo Walk that will be on July 18 (sign up by clicking on the Terrell banner on the right.) I will continue to pop in on the City Council meetings.
Resolution 2. Get to the gym more.-- I have been pretty good about going to the gym. I haven't really lost any weight, but I can tell its moved around some.
Resolution 3.Paint the outside of the house (carryover from 2008).-- OK get back to me at the end of the year.
Looking ahead to year 3
I want the Photo Walk to be successful and fun.
I hope the 2010 Terrell Tigers sports teams have banner years.
I want the Mustang Warriors all return home soon and safe.
I look forward to reading the Terrell Tribune every day and keeping in touch with what's going on in town.
I will watch Big Brother 11, yell at my computer and TV knowing I could do better than anyone in the house. CBS, Channel 11 could have at least had a cast call in Dallas or Terrell. They had a great turnout in Terrell for the Survivor casting call.
Finally, I look forward to continue to posting pictures every day..... sometimes two a day and more commentary.
Oh..poison ivy sucks, and I think I have more links than Michael, that's hard to do. Be sure to take a peek at all of the links to the right, we have some good local blogs worth reading.

Tagged out
The Rangers and Cardinals will try again tonight to play game 6 of the World Series. Tonight is also the Terrell Citizens Police Academy class. I don't know if I should watch for updates on my phone during class or DVR the game and not check the score. Skipping the class is not an option. Hopefully, tomorrow night will be game 7.
The Terrell Thunder finished up fall ball last night hosting Royse City. Tiger baseball will begin practicing at the end of January, but basketball practice has started.

Terrell, Texas Monday Morning Mashup
Vacation is finally over. Time to climb out of the cave and get back to work. This is looking out of the cave at Keener Springs, MO.

It was nice to have all of that time off, but I am ready to go back to work (yeah, right).
I was able to take a very short trip to Cahokia, Illinois, the town I grew up in. Everything looked smaller, I guess everyone always says that. I don't have to go back now for another 20 years.
This week Tiger fans will find out who will be the new Tigers baseball and girls basketball coach. The district will hold a meet and greet Thursday the 15th at 6:30.
If you have not signed up for the Terrell Photo Walk yet, what are you waiting for?
Confirmed yesterday for the photo walk, we will again have access to the LE Griffith home on 1st Street. A lot of people in Terrell have never had the chance to walk the grounds of the home. Now is your chance, sign up using the Worldwide Photowalk icon on the right, and join us at 9am, July 24th on the corner of Francis and Moore with your camera. Brian has more information on his site.
Sunday the 18th is the next 5K race. Its at Norbuck Park in White Rock Lake. Its called Too Hot to Handle. It starts at 7:30AM so hopefully the heat will not be that bad.
I added a few vacation photos to the Flickr page. I still have a few hundred to go through.
Join me on Facebook and suggest the page to your friends.

I guess hes kind of a big deal
Larry Brown head basketball coach of the SMU Mustangs. I was able to attend the Houston vs SMU game Saturday afternoon to watch Terrell Tiger alum Jherrod Stiggers. Jherrod ended up stealing the show leading his team to an 84-80 win in overtime. I have other pictures from the game posted on the Facebook page.

Tigers vs. Panthers
Terrell hosted the Mabank Panthers in a 4A District basketball game Friday night. Mabank features Kolton Browning the Dallas area Class 4A scoring leader. The Tigers were able to overcome Kolton's game high 29 points to get out with a 68-64 victory. Kolton scored 13 of the Panthers 16 first quarter points, but the Tiger defense held him to only 16 points in the final 3 quarters including only 3 in the final quarter.
The Tigers played a complete team game even though they were playing shorthanded. Way to go Tigers.
I put a couple of clips on youtube of the game. Click on the link to the right.
Here are some shots of Kolton Browning in action, number 14 in green. He was fun to watch.

Kolton also just finished a record setting year as quarterback for the Mabank football team and was just named 3rd team All-State quarterback by the Texas Sports Writers Association. He has committed to go to the University of Louisiana-Monroe

Terrell boys back in action at home
The Terrell boys basketball team tries to get back on the winning track when they take on Conrad Chargers at home. Cliff has a preview of the game and posted results of the weekend tournaments for the boys and the girls squads. He also previews the girls game in Waco tonight. Cliff also gives his take on the Cowboys and the BCS games.
I ended up 11-5 on NFL picks for the week. Season record is 126-66. My fantasy team made the playoffs. I am seeded 6th, so its an uphill climb, but at least I am there.
I really dont care about whats happening in Tiger Woods' life.
I am a geek, so I love to watch pro wrestling, WWE or TNA. Last night WWE brought their Monday Night Raw to Dallas with Mark Cuban appearing as a guest host. Mark ended up getting put through a table for his troubles. Pretty funny stuff. It's near the end of this clip.
