Boys Soccer....Terrell 3 Royse City 0

In a game that was moved from Terrell to Royse City because of field conditions, the Tigers started fast and defeated the Royse City Bulldogs 3-0. Because of the game move and a temperature in the low 30s, the game was watched by 2 photographers, the JV team and I think someones parents.

Terrell Coach Joe Stephens told his players to be ready at the start. He said many teams lose games in cold weather because they are not ready to play when the game begins. Terrell didn't have that problem. They scored once early in the first half, and then put the game away with two goals in the second half. Royse City never really threatened.

More pictures from the game tomorrow.

soccer schedule change

The Terrell boys soccer game scheduled for tonight at home has been moved. The tigers will play tomorrow in Royse City, jv will start at 12:30 and varsity at 2PM.

Friday bonus

Here are a few more from outside Cowboys stadium. Its hard to imagine just how huge this place is.

The Terrell Tigers basketball teams are in action tonight. The boys travel to Mabank, while the girls are home against the same school. The boys soccer team is suppose to be in action tonight at home. Field conditions may change that, its been raining since Thursday afternoon.

Brian and I had applied for the Terrell Citizens Police Academy but they didn't have enough people apply. It was to be held every Tuesday night starting the same night that Lost returns. I guess Lost will not have to be recorded.

Skywatch Friday-The house that Jerry built

This is the home of the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas. It opened in 2009 and has hosted, concerts, football games, basketball games and soccer. In the next few months it will host the NBA All-Star Game, Pacquiao vs Clottey boxing, monster trucks and a rodeo. It will also be host to the 2011 Super Bowl.

Wednesday bonus

Another shot

I am sure the Tigers would like one more shot to replay the last 6 seconds of the game last night. Terrell stayed within striking distance during most of the first half and into the third quarter but let the Wranglers outscore the Tigers 13-3 over the last five and a half minutes of the third quarter to take a 39-29 lead into the final period. Terrell fought back with 3 pointers and had tied the score with 50 seconds left. A few time outs and turnovers later the Tigers had their chance to complete the comeback but fell short when they failed to get a shot off at the buzzer.

Opportunity missed

Trailing 52-50 with 6.5 seconds left, Terrell had the ball and an opportunity to either tie or win the game against West Mesquite. After two Terrell time outs and one West Mesquite time out, Terrell finally inbounded the ball and tried to push it up the court. A couple of passes and pressure from the Wranglers prevented Terrell from even getting a shot off. The final score 52-50, Terrell has a three game losing streak and is in danger of not making the playoffs.

#1 for West Mesquite, Javier Soria pictured above, led all scores with 21 points.

More pictures tomorrow.

Monday bonus

Bonus shots from the stock show.

This wasnt the shot I was going for, butt......

This one is a little better.

Monday Morning Mashup

After our trip to the Fort Worth Stockyards Brian and I made our way over to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. We didn't catch the rodeo, instead we walked around the barns and the midway.

I'll have a Monday Bonus post up at 12:30.

The Terrell boys basketball team will host West Mesquite Tuesday night. The Tigers will need a win to break a two game losing streak. They also need a win to better their playoff chances.

Brian and I filled out an application to attend the Terrell Police Department Citizen's Police Academy. The class is suppose to start on February 2nd. Neither one of us have been contacted to attend, I guess we didn't get selected.

A new Facebook group has popped up and since Friday has over 1100 members. Check out
You know You're From Terrell When.... Some of the photos will look familiar.

Also on Facebook is the Terrell Daily Photo fan page and the Texas Daily Photo fan page. Be sure to become a fan of both.

I have been trying the couch to 5k with Brian but I have hit a road block. I went to the Doctors on Friday for a constant knee pain. They think its arthritis. I have been told no running. We will see how it feels in two weeks.

Saw Avatar for the 2nd time. This time it was in IMAX and 3D.

If imitation is the highest form of flattery, then I must be........never mind.

When I was a small child, every year my family would travel down to New Orleans to visit my Uncle Mel and his family during Mardi Gras. They lived in Harvey, LA. We would drive down in my Aunt Margie's motor home and park it right off of St. Charles Ave. and watch the parades. My Uncle would always talk about the Saints and Archie Manning. Archie was going to lead the Saints to the Super Bowl, he used to always say. They never made the Super Bowl with Archie or while my Uncle Mel was alive. He has been gone for well over 20 years but I am sure he is looking down smiling this morning. Geaux Saints!

Rain showers

We could have picked a better day to drive over to the Fort Worth Stockyards, there was a light rain while we were there, but it was still fun. This is behind the steakhouse where we had the calf fries. Our table was the middle window with the white drapes.

Calf fries, from yesterdays post are calf testicles.

Calf Fries!

How many people know what an order of calf fries is? I KNOW NOW!

Brian and I took a trip to Fort Worth. Check Brians site for the calf fries.

Skywatch Friday-After the storm

We had a storm pass through Terrell on Wednesday. Once it past the sky cleared up and it was a nice night.

For other Skywatch Friday sites click here.

I have two other pictures from Ben Gill Park on Wednesday posted to the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page in the Ben Gill Park album. Click the link to the right and join me on Facebook.

The Tigers boys basketball team is home tonight to take on the Lancaster Tigers. Lancaster is the #2 ranked Class 4A team in the state of Texas.

Need a light?

The lighting at the softball complex in Ben Gill Park has been getting replaced. I took the shot because of the new lights and poles but I like the sky also. Not really a Sky Watch post, but only a day away.

Below are vultures that visited a street over from mine last week. My picture doesn't really show how many there were. There were three trees full of them. These birds are huge.

I have added photos from the Terrell boys basketball game against Forney to the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook group page. I have also created a Terrell Daily Photo fan page on facebook. Over the next few weeks I will be adding all photos to the new page. It will be easier to upload and categorize the photos on the fan page and will allow more feedback. You can join the new fan page through the icon on the right.

Wednesday bonus

A few more shots from last nights game.

Forney 49 Terrell 43

The Terrell Tigers boys basketball team went on the road to take on the Forney Jackrabbits in a District 15-4A contest Tuesday night. Terrell trailed after every quarter, but had a couple of chances to take the lead in the final quarter. The last coming when Terrell was trailing 34-33 with just over 3 minutes to go, but the Tigers lost the ball out of bounds and any chance to make a come back. Jherrod Stiggers led the Tigers with 18 points.

Here are a few pictures from the game. I will put up a few more this afternoon.

Jackrabbits elude Tigers

Terrell couldn't stop Forney's Jordan Hancock who scored 22 points in their 49-43 win over the Tigers. Terrell will have a chance to get even when Forney travels to Terrell on February 12th.

More photos tomorrow morning and a Wednesday afternoon bonus.

Too Cold To Hold 5K ladies winner

One more picture from Sundays Too Cold To Hold 5K race. This is the overall ladies winner Brenna Penzel crossing the finish line.

The Run On results have a runner from Terrell winning his age group. I think Brian has a picture of him warming up that he will post later today.

Warrior Dash on May 1st in Forney looks to be shaping up to be a great day. Brian and I will be out on the course taking photos. Have you signed up yet?

If my employer wants to give me $30-$40 million to walk away from my job, I'm listening.

Monday bonus

Heres a shot of the official event photographers from yesterdays Too Cold To Hold race.

New photos have been uploaded to the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page.

Monday Morning Mashup

I at least got to watch one winner from the Dallas area yesterday. Crossing the finish line first in the 5k portion of the Too Cold to Hold race is Dane Conley from Plano, TX.

His left shoe finished second along with Brandon Douglas also from Plano, TX.

Check out Brians shot over at Texas Daily Photo. You never know who will show up.

What to say about the Dallas Cowboys? I could just repost this from last year. The one time I pull for them to win and the offense blows it.

Next weeks games should at least be exciting. Saints/Vikings both high scoring fun teams to watch. Colts/Jets a rematch of the game Dec. 27. The Colts rested many of their starters in the second half in the Dec. game and many of the Colts fans want this rematch to show the Jets their win was a fluke.

The Terrell Tigers boys basketball team travels just down the road on 80 to take on the Forney Jackrabbits Tuesday night. The girls team plays Forney here the same night.

Noticed signs yesterday near the senior apartments of an unwelcome and unregistered neighbor.

They are off - Too Cold To Hold 2010

The start of the Too Cold To Hold race held this morning at Norbuck Park in Dallas, Texas. The winner is in this picture, can you pick him or her out?

I uploaded two videos on You Tube of the start of the race and the 5K winner crossing the finish line.
