Kaufman County Republican Forum

Thursday night the Kaufman County Republicans hosted a candidate forum for all Republican candidates for office that have a primary opponent in the March primary. Each candidate was given the opportunity to introduce themselves then there was a formal question and answer session. There were a few uncomfortable moments, but overall a pretty boring night. There is another forum scheduled for February in Forney. Pick up a copy of the Terrell Tribune at your favorite corner store for details of last nights event, I was only there to take pictures and the price was right (free).

I found out its harder to take good pictures of people speaking than it is to take sports pictures. These are the only pictures that I was slightly happy with.

Below is Andrew Jordan, candidate for County District Attorney

Terrell Mayor Hal Richards served as moderator and host.

State Rep. Betty Brown

Well, it's great that you went for the photos. I agree. It's tough to get interesting photos out of speakers and forums. However, their speeches sometimes make a good story.

I'm not going to comment much on this one 'cause my comments would not be politically "correct."

Your shots are fine, though.

«Louis», hails from Lubbock originally and remembers when there were practically NO Republicans in the state!

That didn't stop him from mounting a quixotic campaign for Goldwater against Lyndon Johnson in '64. «Louis» was a high school senior. He even went to radio station KFYO and recorded his own radio spots for Goldwater and paid for them from money he had earned as a grocery bagger at a local supermarket.
