Wrap it up

A few more pictures from Jamie Foxx day last Saturday. If you missed any of the other pictures, click on the Jamie Foxx tag at the bottom of this post.

Tricia has her latest story, this one about Gilbert Willie Jr. on the Tribune site.

A view from the press box

The Ice House band had a dance contest at the end of their set. Remember the girl that was dancing on the side? There she is on the left. The Lady with the red scarf is Mayor of a Texas town, but I didn't write down which one.

The football player won.

Passing time between Ice House band performing and the start of the events.

The Tiger band.

My week 3 NFL picks looked more like week 1 than week 2 thank goodness. I finished the week 12-4, bringing my total 33-15 for the year. I may be wrong, but I think Cliff finished the week a respectable 10-6. I'll take coke please.
Frank Gores injury was my downfall in fantasy football this week. I lost by 6 points. My record is 2-1.

Tigers are off to a great start, time to show some support. The Tigers play at Memorial Stadium, Google Ben Gill Park for directions. Kickoff is 7:30PM.

This picture is from last weekend, the same night as the rainbow post but looking in the opposite direction. The clouds above Memorial Stadium were dark, to the west the sun was shining as it was setting.

Terrell Tigers scrimmage against Sulphur Springs

Friday night the Terrell Tigers hosted the Sulphur Springs Wildcats in a football scrimmage at Memorial Stadium. This served as a tune up before the first game of the season next week against RL Turner at Memorial Stadium in Terrell, game time is 7:30. The Terrell Tribune has a story about how the Tigers fared in the scrimmage. I have a few more pics I will put up tomorrow.

High School football season

For High Schools that had a Spring practice, today is the first day of football practice for the upcoming year. Going to a high school football game is on my list of things to do this year. Last time I went to a high school football game was when I was in high school back in 1982. Terrell will hold a scrimmage with Sulphur Springs on August 22nd. The box office should be buzzing on August 29th, the night of the first home game against RL Turner. You can find the complete schedule here.

Terrell Memorial Stadium

Memorial Stadium is home to the Terrell Tigers football and soccer teams. I think this holds maybe 7000 people including the visitor stands. There was a bond proposal a few years ago to replace this old outdated stadium, but it failed. I must say with the cost of building supplies going up by the day, maybe a mistake was made. The stadium is clearly out of date.
