Skywatch Friday-Rain in the forecast?

We may get a break from the heat and a little rain, lets hope. This is the sunset last night as the clouds were rolling in.

If you will be in Terrell today, tomorrow or next Friday or Saturday stop by the old Bliss hair salon at the corner of 429 & 80, next to Pardners. They are holding a yard sale/fundraiser for the 949th Brigade Support Battalion who are currently serving in Iraq. They may have something you can not do without. All money collected will be used to purchase gift cards for the returning troops. You can also make a cash donation at Citizens Bank inside Brookshires. This is an excellent idea and I know the returning troops would appreciate the gift. They are also looking for donations to the yard sale and volunteers to assist. Pick up a copy of the Terrell Tribune for more information located in the around town section on the front page.

I posted pictures of the send off that was held in Terrell last July.

I love this site cause I'm a geek. HP takes in $58 million dollars on opening day.

I promise not to complain every day but.............

"Nothing is free" Paul Wageman NTTA Board Chairman today to Channel 11 when discussing the 32% rate increase in tolls on the NTTA system. Follow the link and play they embedded video for the quote.

His quote got me wondering if anyone has done a follow up to this story from almost 2 years ago? Some Wealthy & Powerful Drive On Tollway For Free.

In the story from two years ago, Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson was asked for a comment about getting a tolltag for free. She called the reporter back and said "I don't have to tell you my business." See my comment about Congress from yesterdays post. This may be a good example.

I drive the George Bush Turnpike everyday and will be paying these higher costs. I am curious if all drivers of the NTTA system are being asked to buck up and pay the higher rate.....or any rate at all.

Have a great Friday!
