Weekend shots

Various shots from Memorial Day weekend at Lake Texoma.
Click on each picture for a larger view.

If I tried this I would land flat on my face.

Brian and Kim at the Peanut Shoppe.

Everyone has to have a cart to get around.
Reminds me a little bit of Jacobs blog.

One more post tomorrow for Skywatch Friday from the Lake, then back to Terrell area shots.

Lake Texoma high water

Well, back from my short break. We spent the long weekend up at Lake Texoma. Kim celebrated her 35th birthday. There has been quite a bit of rain on the TX/OK border pushing the lake level higher than normal. Below is a picture taken Sunday of the dock at Texins.

In the picture above, to the right of the picnic table are two trees and a sign. You can barely make out a horizontal line, that's the railing for the steps that are suppose to lead down to the docks. You can see one dock out of the water to the right of the rails. The lattice at the far right is the fish house, its used to clean fish and at the time of the picture had a few inches of water in it. You can see how high the water was by the debris in the parking lot. You may need to click on the picture to enlarge it and see everything.

The picture below is from our trip to Lake Texoma in April. You can see the same fish house in the center of the photograph, and the steps that were attached to the railing. The water level is where the vehicles are at. The docks we were on are now behind the fish house and part of the dock is what you can see in the top picture that has buckled.

Other than the high water and sunburn, we had a great time. I'll post a few more pictures the rest of the week.

Super come back

What a Super Bowl and MVP performance by Santonio Holmes!

Kim and Shawn invited us over to watch Sunday nights Super Bowl. Shawn has been a Steelers fan for as long as I have known him. Here are a few pics from the night.

Before the game Shawns daughter and friends were out trying to get drivers to honk for the Steelers. I think they said they got 150 cars to honk.

Care for a cup cake with Super Bowl ring?

After the second quarter there were two commercials in 3-D. Look at the goobers in this pic. Well all but one is a goober, she at least has some class.

Whoops, shes a goober also.

I think after the Cardinals scored to take the lead, I saw a tear on Shawns face. Thankfully, Big Ben is the man and led his team to victory. The game is over and the good guys won. Sorry Cowboy fans and sorry to my relatives who live in Arizona.

New Years Eve

I guess I am a few days late posting pictures from New Years Eve. We went over to Shawn and Kim's house. Its gotten to be a tradition.

This is Mack, Michelle his wife couldn't be there. She had to pull a 12 hour shift on New Years Day.

Here is Margaret on guitar.

You can check out the New Years countdown on the you tube link to the right.

Looks like Kaufman County Online has made it official and is saying goodbye. Sorry to see it go, at times it was the only real news outlet for Terrell. If anyone wants to publish any announcements send over an email. I don't have the following they had, and I am not a writer, but I will be more than happy to publish upcoming events or news items.

High Rollers

Brian and Kim somewhere between Dallas and Houston playing cards on Southwest Airlines. Kim was making the trip to Vicksburg and we tagged along.

They found the 7 of spades under Kim's foot when we landed. She said it was an accident. :-)
