The past weekend was busy. It started Friday night and the annual Terrell Tiger Spring football game. Lots of hard hitting action in 90 degree Texas heat. Next up for the Tigers is the Forney 7 on 7 passing league that begins on June 8th. Last season the Tigers won the 7 on 7 championship. They followed that up with a birth in the playoffs, their first trip since 2005. The Tigers will have a tougher road to make the playoffs this Fall. Because of redistricting, the Tigers will play in a tougher 15-4A District. In addition to holdovers Forney, West Mesquite, Red Oak, Poteet and Lancaster, the Tigers will be joined by Corsicana, Ennis and Waxahachie. The DMN has published their top 10 4A area teams for the upcoming year. Included in the list are West Mesquite, Corsicana and Waxahachie. Here are a few more pictures from the game. A set from Friday night is posted to the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page. Click the link to the right.
Saturday morning was a trip to Ennis, Texas for the Polka Fest Run and parade. I ran the 5K race and finished with my best time so far. I ran it in 34:30 seconds. Brian ran the 10K race in 1:11. I quick trip up up the road and it was the Polka Fest Parade. You can see the albums from the run and parade on the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page.
Monday morning Brian and I traveled to Kaufman for the Memorial Day program at the Vietnam Memorial Wall at the Kaufman County Veterans Memorial Park.
Monday afternoon was a trip to Lone Star Park for horse racing.
This week I will add albums from the Memorial Day program and the horse races.
