Waiting for the sun to go down

I played with my camera while waiting for the sun to go down and the fireworks to start Friday night. I didnt plan on using the pictures for anything, but here they are.

The first picture was taken at 8:55PM

The picture below was taken at 9:14PM

The next picture was taken at 9:25PM just about time for
the fireworks to start.

The fireworks started at 9:32PM

Nice series Jim. Texas sunsets are always spectacular.

Isn't it fun to "play around" with the camera and then find out that you got great captures like these?
Today's my 100th post at Gun Barrel City Daily photo and I want to thank you for all the encouragement along the way, Jim. You've been a faithful visitor since Day One and I really appreciate you!

These are beautiful. I've never done well with night or near night photos. Any hints for me?

Isn't it crazy how quickly the sky changes? I love it

The sky is so huge in Texas! Is that the moon on the horizon?

Playing with your camera after a lot to drink is highly recommended. You get the most interesting results and you can pretend it's an atry concept.
Great series of images of an period of time. Is this what giving up fags has done to you?

Great photos! Most of us wait for the sun to come up :) Now you got me thinking of the song 'don't let the sun go down on me' We know what I'll be singing all day.

I think I like your second photo, even better than the fireworks. :-)

And btw, you can get hot dogs with krout and with lots of stuff, at that little hot dog stand. I should have added that. :-)
