Terrell, Texas Monday Morning Mashup

This is Theme Day in the City Daily Photo world.  Todays theme is "postcard worthy".  This is a tough one for me.  The only postcards I remember seeing are of Moore Ave. from the 50s.  This is Moore Ave taken on July 31, 2011. Click here to view thumbnails for all Theme Day participants

High School football practice starts today in Texas.  The Tigers have their first practice at 7AM. Volleyball practice also starts today at 8AM.

Tigers season football tickets will go on sale today at the TISD Administration Office, located at 700 N. Catherine.  These tickets MUST be purchased by Thursday, August 11. Admin Office summer hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.; The office is closed Fridays.  All remaining season tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, August 15.

Its the first of the month.  Time for me to beg for you to visit the Tiger iHigh site.

I ate at the new Freebirds in Rockwall over the weekend.  It's very good.  The new In and Out is going up fast in Rockwall. I hope the burger lives up to the hype.  There are some that say Whataburger is just as good or better.

Posted to the Facebook page are pictures from the Firefighter Challenge held in Greenville on Saturday and Trustees softball pictures from last Thursday.

I am looking forward to seeing this movie.

Saturday August 6th is the Melon Dash 5K in McKinney, TX.

Thirty days in a row of high temperatures over 100 degrees.  The 7 day
doesnt look like we are going to get a break anytime soon.

The Dallas Cowboys finished 6-10 last year.  Last week before training camp opened they let go of Roy Williams, Marion Barber and Sam Hurd along with other players.  The Chicago Bears, who finished 11-5 went out and signed all three.  The Bears did re-sign Forney High School graduate QB Caleb Hanie.

Have a great week.

nice photo for theme day! i wasn't sure what to do either as most postcards feature a famous building or site.

my boys start practice this evening! looking forward to it, as moms this is our socializing time lol and we've got a good team again, same team as last year although half of us were able to move up to the next age group and we had to leave the other half down. but my favorite moms moved up with us lol

hope your heatwave breaks soon, it's nice that they make football practice early in the morning before it gets too hot!

i haven't seen this movie advertised yet but i was surprised that i liked the first one, i hadn't expected to. i am looking forward to seeing "the help"...i read the book and can't wait to see the movie!

I like this view. It's such an "American" street. :)

Nice submission for theme day. I like the slow shutter speed on the taillights.
