27 years later

I finally made it out to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.  The Rangers put everyone to sleep for the first 7 innings, but they came alive in the 8th scoring 4 runs.  It was just enough as the Rangers beat the A's 4-3.  The last time I went to MLB game was in 1985 in St. Louis.

Horn performs well against national competition

Tyler Horn, who will be a Senior next year at Terrell recently made a trip to Council Bluffs, IA for the Omaha National World Series, presented by Baseball Factory.  In addition to training and games, he got to see one of the CWS games.

Tyler pitched in 2 games getting a win and a save, he pitched 5 Innings, gave up 1 hit, walked 2 and struck out 3, he gave up 0 Runs, for a 0.00 ERA. At the plate he went 4 for 9 with a double.

Here are a few pictures his father sent in from Iowa.

Catch

I got to watch the Tigers 7 on 7 team for a bit last night.  It's not easy focusing a camera with one hand in a cast, but I did my best.  I should be getting the pins put in my finger at 7AM.  Yeah, I'm not nervous, ha ha, lol.

I have small 7 on 7 albums of Terrell's and Forney's 7 on 7 team on the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page.

On the disabled list

I knew I hurt my hand at Saturday's Gladiator Rock'n Run in Terrell.  I just didn't know how bad it was. I made a doctor appt to get my hand checked out. The swelling had not gone down and I still had limited movement.  My first stop was x-ray.  Thankfully I didn't have to lay on the cold table.

Once the x-rays were done, I was off to see the Doc.  The news wasn't good. I have a broken pinkie finger at the base.  I'll have to visit a specialist to see if a pin is needed.  You can see the break below.  Just my luck, its my left hand and I am left handed.

Gladiator Rock'n Run moving on

Hopefully the Gladiator Rock'n Run will be back next year.  I have only heard and read positive things about the event.

Results from the race are here.  There were only 9 people from Terrell who participated.  There were 39 from both Forney and Rockwall and 19 from Kaufman.

Below is a great video from YouTube user tpholland of the Terrell Gladiator Rock'n Run course.

Gladiator Rock'n Run Fun

It was a lot of fun yesterday at the Gladiator Rock'n Run.  The course was hard but awesome.  I think I ended up with a broken finger, but that's OK. Here are a few pictures of the final two obstacles.  There are more posted on the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page, including a HD video.

Gladiator Rock'n Run

This morning was the Gladiator Rock'n Run held out at the MX Pit in Terrell.  Running this was so much fun. They had to have had a couple of thousand people out there. We don't get many events like this in Terrell.

If you click over to the Facebook page, you can watch the video in HD.

Today is the day

Today is the Gladiator Rock'n Run in Terrell.  I hope to get a few pictures and get a lot muddy.

My spot on the course

My task at the golf tournament was to take pictures.  It's really the only thing I am almost qualified for.  I was stationed on the first hole, so I had a view of No. 1, the tee at No. 10 and No. 18 fairway and green.

Twin Lakes golf course in Canton, Tx hosted the tournament.  It's beautiful, if you are looking for a great course east of Dallas, check this one out.

Terrell Athletic Booster Club golf tournament

Yesterday the Twin Lakes Golf Course in Canton, TX hosted the Terrell Athletic Booster Club golf tournament.  Twenty-five teams helped raise funds for the booster club and hopefully had a good time doing it.  Below are the booster club volunteers who have been meeting for months to put on the event.  I'm in the picture, but all I did was take pictures.  More pictures from the day are at www.ihigh.com/terrelltigers.

A storm rolled in yesterday afternoon right after I took this picture and put a hold on all outdoor activities.
