Terrell, Texas Monday Morning Mashup

Another work week starts.

Brian and I ran in the Vineyard Run 5K race on Saturday in Grapevine, TX.  My time wasn't great, but I didn't get a DNF.  I ran in 34:42, not my best time, not my slowest.  We are looking for the next race to sign up for.
After the race the promoters were giving away prizes by calling out bib numbers.

Friday nights football game drew the attention of a photographer from the Dallas Morning News.  While I am sure they were there to photograph Red Oak,  they finally updated the photos on the Terrell school page.   The DMN photos are nice and a ton better than mine, but I think Don J. has the best sports photos around.  He's pretty good with non sports photos too. Take a minute to visit the link and see his pictures from his recent trip to Africa.

I added three albums to the Terrell Daily Photo Facebook page.  One from the Bahama trip, an album of the Homecoming Court introductions prior to Fridays football game and a Terrell vs. Red Oak album.  Click the Facebook link to the right, and make sure you hit the 'like' button.

I have been back from vacation for a week, and I am still peeling.

Friday night the Tigers travel a few miles to the west to take on the Forney Jackrabbits.  Both teams will be fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive.   Forney has a nice stadium with good lighting, so hopefully I'll have some good pictures.

This sucks.

October 9th there is a Survivor Casting Call in Irving, TX from 10am-2pm. They need to bring the casting call back to Terrell.

October 23rd is the 9th Annual Guns and Hoses Boxing Tournament in Mesquite, TX.  Terrell will be represented by 3 firefighters.  I think I need to snag some tickets and take my camera to that event.

November 13th is the Kaufman County Fire Chiefs Association Poker and Fun Run.  Registration begins at 8AM at the Ables Springs Volunteer Fire Department.  Click the image below for more information.

Hi Jim...you seem to be a very busy young man these days! Glad you finished your race and your time isn't bad at all...I'd certainly be happy with it.

Would love to see some Mesquite pictures...lived there for four years!

Runs and marathons seem to be picking up popularity over here in Couch Potato Country.

It's tough getting back out there running after vacation -- good for you. Gotta love the no DNF!

Yep, that sucks. How far away is it from you and Brian? I think y'all ought to start a campaign, help those folks in Wills Point to make sure that it somehow stays a viable building, one that can continue to serve the community in a meaningful way. I've got all the faith in the world in you two and your powers.
