The Primary is over, now come the run offs and the recounts. I don't remember ever paying this much attention to a primary election. Long time State Rep. Betty Brown appears to have lost her bid for a 7th term to the Texas House, losing to former staffer Lance Gooden. Will there will be a recount? Out of over 12,000 votes cast, Mr. Gooden won by just over 100. I would like to think that my vote was one of the 100. The Democrats didn't think this race was important enough to run a candidate, so Mr. Gooden will not face a challenger in the general election in November.
