Mutt Strutt

Yesterday was the 2nd annual Mutt Strutt 5K in Royse City, TX.  Its a small but fun 60's hippy themed race with a lot of 4 legged friends running with us.

The race is hosted by WOOF-Stock Foundation of Texas. From their webpage: WOOF-Stock Foundation of Texas is and official 501(c)3 organization that was founded in 2012 by Don and Melanie Kuykendall. The annual WOOF-Stock festival is hosted by Kuykendall Insurance in Royse City and proceeds go to animal welfare organizations across the state of Texas with primary focus on our local communities.

Fall ball

It might be football season, but it's also time for fall ball.  Last night was my first chance to use my new lens for baseball.

Lady Tigers volleyball

Volleyball isn't one of the sports I can take pictures of easily.  It seems I'm always a half second behind.
I did like a few from last nights games.

Rangers vs Rays

Got to sit 1st row last night at the Rangers vs Rays game.  Unfortunately, the Rangers didn't play very well, but that's how it's been this year for them.  I guess its no secret my dream job would be to be a professional sports photographer.  I'm sure thousands of others would like that job also and are much better than I am.  I was able to get some pretty cool pictures the seats though.

Truck yard

A week or so ago Kate mentioned food trucks in one of her posts. I mentioned in a comment that they used to be called roach coaches.

Sunday, we made a trip to the Truck Yard in Dallas.  Its a bar/restaurant/hang out, all around cool place to visit. They also have food trucks that rotate in and out.  Sunday featured 3 trucks, one that specialized in sliders, another had Itialian food and I cant remember the last one.  They also have a kitchen inside the bar that makes the best philly steaks.  In addition to the philly steak I had fried ravioli from one of the trucks. Check out their webpage to see the decor.

#TBT Snow Storm

It made it to 97 yesterday in Terrell with a heat index over 100.  How about a Throwback Thursday picture going back to a snow storm in February 2011.

Must remember the battery

I went out last night looking for my picture for this morning and noticed these classic cars.  I took out my camera and noticed I forgot to put int he battery.  At least I had my iPhone, but it sure would have liked the Nikon.
