Terrell, Texas, Monday Morning Mashup

This is Harley Duffer, the 5k race Saturday in Wills Point, TX. was a fund raiser to assist with Harleys medical costs. Harley was diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia (ARVD) in December 2009. He received a life-saving Heart Transplant on Christmas Day at Children's Medical Center in Dallas. The Terrell Tribune featured Harley and his family in a June story. You can find more information about Harley at www.codaforharleyd.com.

Harley handed out the winner ribbons and by the end, when I got my picture, I think he was pooped.

The race attracted over 200 runners, a great turnout for a first time run. My time for the race was 33:52, the best I have done so far. But, like Brian, I wonder if the course was a full 5k. The next race is the McKinney Historical Run on the 7th.

The Tribune has a follow up story about the Photo Walk that Brian led. You can view photos from the photo walk on Flickr.

The Vagabond Players will be performing "Barefoot in the Park" at the Books and Crannies Theater beginning August 6th. The play runs for 3 weekends, Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $15.00. Make reservations by calling 972-563-5481.

One more Facebook request, if you have FB, please vote on the Kohl's Cares page for Terrell HS.

Only two weeks left to visit Ham Orchards. Have you had your peach fix yet? Their burgers are pretty good too.

As a way to motivate myself to run every day, I added a counter on the right to track my progress.
